Mat upgrade system please

Could we have a way to upgrade mats etc. For instance if you have 10 pitch be able to with alchemy regs upgrade them to 1 item of the next quality improvment etc. I think it would be healthy for game economy and provide another resource sink. There are a lot of options, could even lock the alchemy mat for the upgrade in dungeons or trials. Thoughts?

You could cap it at purple, or lock it behind trials at that point. They could balance the cost etc to prevent flooding. It is a new idea to me and prob suggested before. No idea is perfect unless people build on it. Either way I am not the expert so I generalized the idea.

Say 1000 green = a blue 500 blues = a purple and 200 purples for a gold and using a dungeon or trial mat for the conversion etc.
In the long run it should bring more value to mats across the board "I think" I could be wrong though.

They could even make it so you need a gold mat of another craft to do the uograde etc.

But all upgrade mats below gold are in such great abundance it seems like a waste of time to do.

There's already enough gold mats in the game to flood the market. However there are people with mats and people without mats and it's been massively unhealthy for the economy.

Assuming I get a cheap deal on wax and get it for 7k a piece. It still costs 56k to upgrade 1 slot of armor. Maxing my gear shouldn't cost 400k+ in gold mats AND hours of grinding. (That's including 1 weapon. If you throw in a back bar or DW that's another 90-180k)

I've got 400 honing stones that I'm absolutely never going to use and they're worthless to sell. I've got 200 dwarves oil too.

    Realistically if it's a 10:1 conversion rate,

    1 gold mat = 10 purple mats = 100 blue mats = 1000 green mats.

    It's hardly unreasonable.

Thats the point. They will go up in value. This is one example and gold mats could be used in tbe system as a sink as well. Flooding the market is a definite concern. It may also provide a healthy gold sink as people might be more inclined to deconstruct over just hocking junk off at merchant.

I would LOVE the market to be flooded with gold mats. Do you have any idea how expensive it is for a tank to upgrade to full gold? DPS and healers don't have this problem, at worst they have 2 weapons and one armor piece of heavy...24 Tempering Alloys or 192,000 gold(plus another 144,000 for their cloth armor mats)336,000 total...but for a tank? its 54 alloys...or 496,000 gold(plus another 24,000 for the shield)520,000 total, its absolutely ridiculous.

It's not just limited to just tanks, though, @josiahva ... a lot of players in PvP run at least one 5-piece heavy set regardless of their role.

My PvP healer runs a gold 5-piece heavy impen Kagrenac's.

Besides the flood of gold mats, the change would selectively benefit some players who have ample stock of low level improvement tempers (short-term) ... a big difference between the "haves" and "have nots".

Locking it behind Trials wouldn't really be a restriction would it? There are so few players that use the Trials staging area crafting tables ... since players generally try to be prepared with their gear needs before they port in to start the Trial.

I meant as a conversion mat for gold that you can get as drops off trial bosses, just something extra. This comes from hearing about players being bumbed about not making much gold doing them. That being said I know they sweetened the pot sense. Or I might be confused about what you meant lol.

    Hmmm

Have to go look up the cost of 10 blues plus reagents vs one purple...

I mean, seems to me guild stores already provide conversion so this seems maybe a plea for more economical?

I'd be thrilled if they would allow an upgrade scheme for Ta, Jejota, Denata, and Rekuta runes.

I have never been asked to make a white glyph for a player. Normal writs yes. Requests from players, never. From harvesting nodes, breaking down glyphs, and hireling mails, I have almost 4k Ta runes. If I didn't have the crafting bag I'd be destroying stacks of them Trading in 50 or a 100 at the mage's guild for a green, or more for blue, or purple would be fantastic.

It surprises me that some Trials players are still complaining about how vet Trials aren't worthwhile ... even after undaunted plunder was added.

What happened to running Trials for the fun, challenge, and gear rewards?

In PvP I might go through 40 immovable pots during a raid night ... yet I don't see myself or other PvP players demanding compensation for the used potions.

But, I don't want to sidetrack the thread and your idea ... which I'm still not comfortable with but not totally opposed to.

The idea needs alot of work but I have been up for about 27 hours here at work so I do not have too much to add right now, a little scatter brained. I have not heard anyone complaining about trials in that aspect that was just 100% me etc. Another earlier post someone made a comment about how you can convert items through traders by selling off surpluss and buying what you need but, my brain will stew on that one later after I get some sleep.

I agree the gold mats could use an increase in drop rate. Better than the dupers getting away with selling them to everyone. Not to mention all the stupid gear changing because of Zos stupid ideas in changing all the classes constantly.
