Why relog? Just visit a house you do not own (as in preview) and exit. This will refresh all the containers. As will fall damage death in halls of madness. Aside, from cooldown.

Is there any factual evidence behind this or is it just speculation? I keep seeing it mentioned but rarely have ZOS ever announced their anti-farm information and player theories in the past have been... wacky.

There is no evidence for now, only tested ways of collecting recipes.

I tried it with my guildmate. I was farming on one character with changing location(to respawn urns), he was using 10 characters. He got 1-3 recipes per character. I got 2 on first run and thern 0-1 in every next run.

Thanks, I don't mean to sound rude questioning just after the theories like the Dolmen pinions I am wary of outright believing theories without decent data.

I keep meaning to farm these myself so will try and keep some data as well.

    In general I think

I believe it to be a cooldown per quality. In that, you get a green recipe and then you are on cooldown for green for 10 minutes. If you pick up a blue recipe, you are on cooldown for blue for 10 minutes (a separate 10 minute span from your green cooldown). If you get all three kinds right away, you should log to another character and keep farming or go do something else for a bit. To quickly load up on green recipes, simply switch to another character as soon as you receive a green recipe. Have enough characters that you eat up the 10 minutes from the first cooldown (for me this is about five). If you are looking specifically for blues or purples, only swap after you get a blue or purple recipe. This is what I do and it cuts down on the repeated green recipes I already have.

As usual this is completely anecdotal, but I have done a lot of furniture farming - some of it for entire days at a time (I find repetitive, tedious activities soothing) - and this is my experience.

I went into Dreloth tonight and every container is empty. It was refilling them last night but today nothing, anyone know what's going on? This is really a drag as I want to learn many recipes and can't afford the huge prices people are charging (if you can find them at all on the guild stores).

NVM, that was really super weird. The first time I went in this evening they were empty, I just went in and they're fine. So bizarre (and yes I know containers have a refill rate, I hadn't been in since last night the first time I went in this evening.) So, um, if your's are all empty, maybe leave the tomb and go back in and that might help.

You can only loot one tomb at a time on a character and then wait for the cool down. The way to get round it is to use multiple characters raiding the tomb. Also the tomb near the ashlander camp has more urns in but requires more leg work.

Don't question the dolmen pinons...it's well known fact that you need to leave all the pinons in Cyrodiil open to the end in order to get not only cold fire siege, but also a chance at aetheric ciphers, maelstrom weapons and sometimes a certificate for 100,000 gold. The reason people think this is a myth is that they don't realize you have to close the pinons WITH NO ARMOR ON. I don't get why this is always left out...I think people want to keep this farm a secret. Take off all your armor, close the pinons at the end and you get a massive reward.*

*We reserve the right the right to exchange stated rewards for a one shot kill snipe to the knee for anyone foolish enough to walk around Cyrodiil naked based on spurious internet rumors.

Anyway, regarding the farm cooldown...I've always been a farming profiteer, from selling daedric motifs for $100k to today. It's hard to calculate the exact mechanics, but as you probably know any containers of the same type as urns (able to drop mats, motifs, gear, etc) slow/stop their drops after a certain point...probably after about 100-150 have been collected. They'll start dropping almost only gold. This is more character bound than location bound - I can port to a second delve and the containers are still down.

I do not believe there are any mechanics past the master RNG and cool down...I don't think there's a 3 recipe limit. I think people are just hitting the 100ish urn cap in the time it takes to get about 3 recipes. That makes sense...if the recipe odds are set to 1 in 40, you'd almost always hit container cool down around 3 recipes.

But remember, people, especially in PS4 NA Vivec...always close those dolmen pinons in no armor. You will not go unrewarded.

So I have a question about this, semi-related.

I read this thread the other day and thought, "hey yeah, I've picked up a few of the new recipes from questing, but I should just start logging my toons out at this crypt and increase my chances." I have been doing this on 4-5 characters for the past few days/nights.

One character, my main, loots all 60-something urns in the crypt and often gets a green, a blue, sometimes a purple - managed to even get a gold (Imperial Style) recipe. The pattern seems to be true though - once you get a recipe of a certain quality, it seems there is a lockout or cooldown before another of that same quality will drop. Hard to verify, but as was mentioned above, it seems true from an anecdotal evidence perspective.

My question is this, however. My main picks up everything - tons of voidsteel armor and weapons and non-rubedo/rubedite stuff, and of course a billion lockpicks and lowest-tier quality rings/necklaces. All the characters do. The weird thing though is that for all of those lesser quality items, 4 out of 5 characters sell them for 0g to a vendor, but the ONE character sells those items for 27g, 47g, etc., thereby netting a small bit of gold income over the course of a few passes of the crypt.

I thought this was odd so I decided to try to figure out why. It cannot be passive skills from the champion system because 3 of these characters have the same general makeup - ranged magicka - so their points are distributed with the same passives. For example, they all have treasure hunter, gatherer, merchant favored, etc. That's not what's causing the difference in "crap loot" prices. Then I thought maybe it was the legerdemain skill line, but one of those other characters is actually maxed out, so it's not that.

The only thing different I can think of is that the character who profits has done all the quests in Vvardenfell - or at least to the point that he has both "Champion of Vivec" and "Savior of Morrowind" titles. Is there anything beyond that which would enable one character to actually profit from the urns' trash loot while 4 other characters just sell the items to make space in inventory? Is there a skill line on this character to which this feature is attributed? The whole venture would be far more lucrative if everyone could sell their junk for actual gold.

One of my chars is experiencing exactly the same, and he has no achievements at all. In fact, he has nothing. None of my other chars at various levels finds items worth more than 0 gold in there (well, besides the motifs, and recipes, and...). Friend of mine has this on 6 out of 9 chars, and has no idea why it's happening either. We checked lots of things to find out too.

Absolutely positive it is not from mobs. I log the character in at the crypt, I make the rounds looting the urns, and then sell items to my pocket merchant who now spawns behind me as if she's some kind of Morag Tong thug intent on ninja-attacking me unawares.

At best there are two mobs to kill - skeevers - and the amount of items I'm able to sell is far, far greater than two mobs would drop.

Plus, I've checked after clearing out a few urns and the (!) new inventory items have gold values. It happens on only one character. It's probably a bug. Just weird it's affecting one character and not all.

Nope, that one character is a Breton sorcerer.

It really is a very strange and I just can't seem to attribute it to anything *visible* in any of the skill lines. The closest explanation is the MW achievements having been obtained, but as @Yuls mentioned, that's apparently not (always?) a factor either.

I'm sure the responsible, mature, adult (read: overrated) thing for me to do is to go submit a bug report, but at this point I feel like that's what about half of my forum posts are. Besides, it's not an exploit of broken game mechanics and it's not hurting anybody. The moderators read the forums.

Oh, and also I'm hesitant to /bug it because, well, unlike the abundant and numerous game breaking issues that seem to persist for months/years at a time, this is the type of thing they'd somehow fix before I even log in tonight. Ha! Plus, despite it being only 1 out of 5 characters with this secret "bonus" income going on, I'm not all that keen to make it go away since time farming urns for recipes isn't a money maker for me - I keep 'em to learn 'em so it's not like THOSE are making me rich.

For the voidsteel, nightwood, etc stuff I get a mix of 27g and 0g items from containers, and nearly always 0g if I pick it up in the world. It's definitely weird you're only getting gold value I on one character!

For smaller items, like stacks of apples or whatever, how big are the stacks you're
selling? Sometimes I'll get 20g or w/e for a large stack, while the individual items show as 0g. Might be worth seeing if there's a difference in add-on settings between the characters, if you have anything that changes how sell prices are displayed (stack vs per item).

Yeah, I just checked it before work this morning and it's still happening (for only the one toon), so no nerf YET.

As for the question regarding stacks of other items (apples, etc.), I really don't know - if it's a crafting material (foodstuffs), it just goes into my crafting bag, so I don't know if it has any value at all. The "ash" and other trash category items are usually just a gold each, and usually I sell them at the end of a couple of rounds to my pocket merchant.

So, can anyone confirm whether there was a stealth nerf to the containers in Dreloth Tomb? I think the drop rate is low enough that there's no need to nerf it, but...you know...ZOS.

In about a month of farming, I've only found 4 purple plans and they were base game plans (and 2 of them I already knew). I have found a handful of blue MW plans and the odd blue base-game one I didn't already know, but the drop rate seems to be in a good place.

Oh...and I have 3 characters that get gold-value gear from the urns. One is level 38 and the other 2 are level 20 and 21.

I started urn farming late (a week or so after Morrowind dropped), there was a "nerf" at the begining, I assume because plans were actually being found. Since then, I haven't noticed a change in drop rate. I have found 4 purple plans, only 1 was not base game. I've found a decent amount of blue and green, but still get 6-10 base game recipes for each Vvardenfell specific plan. Also, the number of trash motifs (blue and purple for base) is outrageous, probably get a full set every 3 runs.

I know there's pressure to make this expansion seem worth the money, but the loot tables for urns just seems like artifically extending farm time.
