Viper sting combined with Strength of the Automaton sets

I have recently farmed 5 pieces of the Viper sting and 5 pieces of the Strength of the Automaton on my stamplar Bosmer (with CP > 160)
I have no idea about procs and what combos work well but is this a good combination?

I was thinking of maybe crafting Hundings rage set and combining that with viper sting. Would this work well?

My Bosmer, is a stamper who is focusing on crit dmg and depends on high crits to really do some dmg. ATM with these 2 set combos I get a solid 70% crit chance (or maybe it was 75% not sure) on my DW bar.
But ignoring the crit chance, my weapon DMG is quite low (hence why i think Strength of Automaton set helps here)

What is everyone opinion? What is a good set combo for my Bosmer stamplar?

Viper and proc sets overall will be nerfed. Check the patch notes. Link in the above page, in blue

automoton is really good for physical damage
hunding is good for all round damage

whether automoton is better for you than hundings depends entirley on what weapons you use, what skills you use and what content you participate in.

Proc sets didn't really get much of a nerf, they'll all be super strong still just with a bit more variation in what's good and some limited counterplay. Viper is a dot but will still be powerful. Will only be useless for proctard gankers who count only on the intial strike combo to kill people. Anyway worth stamplar I'd consider running a sustain set with a damage set. Automoton is awesome for stanpalrs because all your damage is physical. Ravagers is another good stamplar damage set because it procs off jabs. I'd consider running either of those with bone pirates for sustain. However, balances are coming next patch and what traits are considered best are going to change so you might want to hold a sec before investing tons of time and/or money into a build.

Better yet, I suggest hopping into PTS and testing builds out. Unfortunately, you won't have access to all the sets, but at the moment, you will have access to your characters (if you are NA).

Viper will turn into a dot, but that doesn't mean you can't use it, it just won't have that initial burst damage that made nb ganking so easy.

    Odin banker - obv banker
Yan of the Red Mountain - lvl 3 DK - not sure when I will work on em

Currently I have a Bow and DW. My setup looks like this for PvE:

Bow Bar: repentance, binding javelin, endless hail, poison injection, PotL, Ulti: Dawnbreaker

DW Bar: Shrouded daggers, Steel tornado, trap beast, biting jabs, Camouflaged Hunter, Ulti: Rend

For PvP I swap endless hail for Focused Aim and trying to get Vigor.
I also swap out binding javelin for shuffle and dawnbreaker for Crescent Sweep just cause its cheaper and I get the passives.

Im still working on my rotation, im not a competitive player, but I do seem to do doing good in delves where I can just destroy the bosses. Overland bosses are tougher for me due to not having vigor.

Automaton doesn't boost your heals, Hunding's Rage does. Best bet for PvE DPS is either Spriggan's or Twice-Fanged Snake + Hunding's

I wont be playing too much for the next month. However, when I return to game in about a month, I would like to craft my Stamplar a good sustain set.

What is a good craftable sustain set for a Stamplar? The only one I can find is eternal hunt. But that requires 9 traits learned! (im only on 7 for med armor on my crafter).

However, seeing as my Stamplar is a provisioner, Bone Pirates Tatters seems like an awesome set for me.

all of the options you have suggested, and the ones others have suggested are great for you

as you said you are not a competitive player so you really dont need to go to the effort of farming a set in specific traits or finding a crafter/leveling crafting just to increase your damage by <5% the gear you have is more than adequate for vMA

you struggle to solo some world bosses because you dont have vigor! wow stop questioning your ability, i have seen people with every skill they could possible need struggle on a delve boss - your doing great! :)

just remember that in order to run 2 full sets 1 set does need to be a dropped set because you will need the jewelry

Haha, thanks for that. I guess maybe I am being hard on myself. I guess I will stick with the automaton set and see if I can combine it with a decent sustain set.

However, Does biting jabs proc the weapon DMG from Automaton set? Is Biting jabs even considered weapon dmg?

Does it deal physical damage? Then it is affected by Automaton damage.

I think it does. SO that would mean that jabs would benefit? Awesome. then I am going to upgrading the good trait items to purple quality then!

I'll most likely replace Vipers set for a sustain set. The only way I can get the proc from that set is through my LA/HA. All my skills/abilities are not considered melee dmg. Ill probably wear it when I do PUGS where I am (trying to) LA/HA weave.

yes hundings does buff self heals - i am not disputing that

but the OP has said they are not competative - the gear they have is more than strong enough for them

when they do dungeons there should be a healer in the group
if they do trials (excluding ma) there better be a healers in the group
when they are running around in PvP there is usually a healer also running around (and until they get vigor i suggest they stick in groups if only to earn more AP & get vigor quicker)

so i stand by my advice that the OP's current gear is more than adequate,
