STAMBLADE OR MAGIKA SORC

For this campaign month I have been playing a sorc with some good results however I am getting bored of the play style.
Im thinking of going back to my stamblade as I do prefer that play style. I have noticed though that they are hitting harder- before morrowind I could usually roll out of a gank and buff up however now I seem to be unable to do anything at about 20% health.
Just wondering if you think that this is because stamblades have become stronger since the update or could it be the lag in cyro causing this. I do also notice that when I am fighting a few players I always seem unable to buff when it shows some health left.

Having time to roll dodge away and heal and shield- although I can get away with some health remaining I cant heal or shield0 -
