Burning Spellweave + Silks of the Sun + Valkyn?

Hey all. So, I usually run tanks- but I've been wanting to vary my build into a DPS. I want to put the three sets together (because, let's face it, I'm stubborn). That being said: What's the ideal magicka regen for a 5/1/1 Dunmer mDK with 5 BSW, 5 SotS, and 2 Valkyn? From what I understand- the Battle Roar passive allows DK DDs to have slightly less regen than other classes...

Any suggestions on the regen amount?

Eh, interesting build but I would never drop a 3 piece mooondancer/infall aether. That minor slayer is a must for me in trials.

If you dont run dungeons or trials much, go for it.

and how do you propose to run 2 5 sets and a monster set, 2 swords?
unless each bar has one set each of bsw and sun

Likely its a single helm from monster or no monster and crafted or maelstrom staves.

That is what I am running atm. Run witchmothers brew drink you have lots of health bonus's from your gear.

I have no DLC and have never run a trail. :/.

Also yes two swords... I couldn't find a sharpend sun sword (can't afford one) so I have infused and spell damage. I only have a sharpened BSW Mace not a sword. Grinding bores me...

I don't have the undaunted passives and sadly only 20K target dummy dps (But having 300 ping makes it impossible to weave and animation cancel correctly)

The ideal magic regen is probabaly spell damage/mana return on main weapon, spell power potions, and possibly magic reduction on a few pieces of jewelery...
And some heavy attack waeves when that doesn't cut it.

Your not far off what i'm running. I hate trials so while sets like moondancer or undoubtably BIS. They are not my BIS choice. Right now i have TWS and BSW. I also run BSW with julianos, and i am activly farming SoTS. You may want to consider grothdar or illambris over skoria dps in pve, its still mDK's best choice in pvp

I'm building a mDK for dps also, and while farming for silks of sun, I noticed that clever alchemist offers better overall spell damage (and weapon damage) than SoTS. Pretty sure I'm just gonna craft that than farm. Anyone else think this is better?

I ran Spinner and BSW for solo PVE content and to me it worked prety well. Incl. VmsA.
BSW was on Backbar where i equiped one AoE DoT, with all the DoT's already hitting it mostly procced when i switched bar.

Clever alchemist only has a 33% up time which for PvE DPS I think is pretty poor.

Good point. Though just running vet pledges, fights don't typically last that long anyhow. The 782 spell damage is monstrous. Also, possibly use potion enchant on jewelry would have more uptime? Can't remember how those work. Guess I'm just looking for a placeholder till get SoTS pieces.

@cpuScientist is correct- Clever Alchemist isn't that great for PVE. However, it's actually pretty stellar for dualing/PVP. I have an Argonian mDK tank that runs 5 Clever Alchemist, 5 Burning Spellweave, 2 Grothgarr. Those three sets synergize perfectly with an Argonian mDK build in that:

    - For the lack of extra "flame damage" that an Argonian is missing (vice a Dunmer)- the C.A. and B.S.W add pure spell damage. Grothgarr adds more magicka (which is good since Argonians get less magicka than Dunmers)

-The healing done/received that an Argonian gets is comparable to the Dunmer's healing from Burning Embers.

    - You can sacrifice some magicka regen on an argonian build since every time you use a potion and/or ultimate- you receive resources from all three stat pools.

    - In PVP, the Argonian Tank will be "locking down" enemies with talons... as multiple enemies begin to wear down your resources, you'll pop a potion. This will return resources (from the Argonian passive), return resources/regen (from the potion itself), and procc Clever Alchemist... which will instantly make your Burning Embers/Inhale do more damage and return more heals.

I was actually thinking for PVP. BSW, SotS, and Valkyn. You'd run a heavy helm, medium shoulders, and dual swords (or sword and shield) on one bar with a destro on the other bar.

So yes you are a little squishy doing this. HOWEVER my friend uses this to much success. I use shackle instead of BSW, but still 5 light and 1h 1m, And I would suggest a resto staff back bar, for the ward the ult and the mag return. I can duel and 1vX with this setup. And does great in BG's. Obviously survivability is not as good as heavy. But the damage is miles better. And I usually run with a small group of 2-6 so the lower armor is not as bad. IMO light is the way to go. I'm out here to make telvar and AP. Not to tank 20 people around a tree or some rocks, and wonder why they are not dead. So when I see people complain about magDK or magPlar doing low damage... YOUR BUILDING A DAMN TANK!!!! OFCOURSE YOU CANT KILL!!!

TLDR: Kill fools get paid. Best way to magDK

I've tried healing ward on my mDK and I just can't see the appeal compare to coagulating blood, my CB can crit for over 10k for massive burst healing, my ward is around 3k max heal on a crit and the shield is tiny. What am I missing?

I carry 1500 plus regen on my Mag DK and run seven light because I find the sustain issues for how I play hit that character the hardest

Then again I also run DW BsW swords bescause in the 100 plus hours I've tried to a farm that set I got two sharpened swords and not 1 inferno staff

The idea is to combine the two. When you get low health, use healing ward, then CB. That way you go from almost dead to full health w/ a giant damage shield relatively quickly. Also, the restoration expert passive helps ensure that CB takes you to full.

Yeah this. Both heals work better when you are lower health. So once you get low, swap put on the ward for a very big shield, then coagulating blood. And tahdah back in the fight with a big shield and health. That and the resto ultimate is very nice if you do group play. If you see it's not a kill moment and your team is starting to falter you can pop that instead of a leap. And reset the fight for the most part. Or bats can go here instead aswell.

I'll have to give them a try in tandem. I like the back bar resto for the ability to restore magicka but I was using ward as a replacement for CB and it wasn't working.

I used such combo but with grothdar instead of valkyn (sun staff on one bar DW sun+bsw sharpenerd swords on the other)
