I buy only alchemy, provisioning and enchanting writs, and those which craft epic gears. I'll never buy any legendary or prismatic though - waste of gold.

I do writs on 6 different characters and have never gotten a master writ requiring lower level matts. Maybe it happens when doing them in a crafter that's doing lower level writs but they would be able to harvest the correct matts anyhow.

One of the ozarga recipes take a low level water to complete. Spelling of the name is probably incorrect, one of the recipes from the Orc chef outside of Wrothgar.

My only complaint is I don't get Master Writs often enough. I don't mind the rest. I'll do all of them, I don't care if they are only for 2 vouchers or if they sometimes require higher mats. I just want ALL the vouchers.

Ok. True. I was thinking alchemy. However, that's not really a low level recipe. Further, you can sell it if you do not want to bother with buying the matts.

You're correct. Clear Water is used in Orzorga's Red Frothgar Recipe. Though Lorkhan weeps for the crafter that can't maintain an abundance of Clear Water.

It is definitely a system for those with really deep pockets who have unlimited resources, and can afford to buy top end writs or have them donated. This in turn makes them more rich as in selling retunables for 500k is just plain ignorant on Zos part. For even the average person with all master crafters, these things are out of reach to buy either at voucher merchant or GT. Remember, there is no money in crafting anymore since Zos took a dump on sets and increasing materials for crafting, and also nerfing upgrade materials etc. The whole writ system needs an overhaul, from dailies to master writs. Vouchers need an increase in amounts for the type of writ. This 6 to 10 vouchers is absolute nonsense for epic and legendary crafting, or just get get rid of gold items needed for voucher writs. Reduce the cost of items on the voucher vender as well, and increase drop rates on upgrade materials. Problem is Zos does not care as they love trolling us with their RNG system.

I feel like you are contradicting yourself. By saying "can afford to buy top end writs", you are saying we can all make good money selling those writs. So no problem there. Sure, maybe you can't afford to buy the writs and then buy a retunable to sell. But if people are making 500k selling those, then there is money in crafting. If people are selling top end writs at prices only those with deep pockets can buy, then there is money in crafting.

I am not saying that there is money in crafting. I have no idea. I do master writs for the achievements, and I find it hard to justify doing the high end writs because it feels like a waste of mats to me. But if I can sell a retunable for 500k, maybe I'll do some of my stash of master writs.

I agree that the payoff seems crazy low for a lot of the master writs.

I did just enough writs to get all the crafting tables and the ebony motif. Now I just sell them off as there is really nothing else for me to buy with vouchers

That being said, I'm full 9 trait in everything and know MOST of the motifs and I have seen only ONE writ for over 6-7 vouchers. The drop rate of the good vouchers is way too low in my opinion and many of them have a very poor ROI.

You have either been really unlucky, or haven't done many dailies. If you are doing them regularly, you are an outlier if you only got one for over 7 vouchers.

I have deleted over 70 of these Master Writs. I do not enjoy Master Writs. I did a handful of them at the beginning but now I just delete them. In my opinion they are not worth doing. I feel I have more than enough to do without having to worry about running around doing Master Writs. I never got into the whole Homestead thing and Master Writs are just junk in my inventory.

Also very buggy as well, my main crafter stats below and barely gets any master writs anymore for like the past month

Remember that achievements are also a factor in master writ drops ... not just trait research and motif knowledge.

    Some examples of achievements are:

    - Does you character have knowledge of the hakeijo essence rune?
    - Has your character golded out at least one piece of equipment in clothing, woodworking, and blacksmithing?
    - How many purple provisioning recipes does your character know?

Before calling master writ drops too low or buggy, check your achievements in the craft first ... even with all achievements cleared there's still a random chance you'll get one.

All of that with the exception of a couple of purple food recipes. And she has pulled 2 in the last 3 weeks, a 5 and a 2. My lower tiered crafters pull in those all the time, maybe 4 times a week. And they know very little of the motifs and recipes.

I saw one in a guild store worth 302 vouches and they wanted 288K for it. Would have grabbed it but was one of the few styles I can't do.

Kind of odd my character that knows every recipe in the game and has all related accomplishments almost never gets a master writ. A lower level character that just learns the recipes that are not worth posting in the guild store gets them not regular but probably more often than she should.

Please give your nirnhoned writs to me if you're being spammed with them, you lucky you o: I have all traits and all pre-Morrowind motifs(except Crown Store exclusive ones) yet I've only ever gotten ONE nirnhoned writ(doing crafting writs daily since the system came out), epic for like 40 writs. I so wish I'd get more, nirnhoned legendary seem to be like 200+, I'd much rather prefer one legendary for 200+ than five legendaries for ~40 that I keep getting from woodworking>.<

I wish Nirnhoned Legendary gave me 200+ writs. The ones I get give me no more than 80 vouchers for that combination. It sucks, while I see other players with the same thing or very close getting the 200+ voucher.
Far too many characters to list any more.

Those of you that are getting a fair amount of master writs may I ask what platform you are on? Most people I know on PC haven't had very much luck in weeks on there master crafters.

It's a combination of a few things. First, the market is saturated as the first wave hype wore off. Everyone has their housing items by now. Also supply has been steadily increasing over time as more and more people did the writs. Second, there is simply not that much to buy. I'm sitting on 300+ vouchers and some unused master writs in my bag as there is nothing that I really want. The vendor sells a lot of stuff that is either useless or not worth the price.

As for Nirncrux - it's no longer expensive since ZOS totally burned the trait to the ground. Before the nerf potent Nirncrux was selling for 20k+. Now it's around 6 to 8k on PC EU. Fortified Nirncrux was always cheaper as it drops more often. It's around 4K now. That's also reflected in the prices you'll get for the master writs.

Master writs could be a success if the variables to obtain them were not so obscure and if they offered some great items - like mundus stones, wayshrines, or the like.

I guess I just needed to complain about not getting enough of them. Got 3 tonight. Two were small but one was for over 70 vouchers. And for anyone on PC/NA that cannot be bothered to do Master Writs, and for some reason have no interest in selling them, you can go ahead and send them my way lol. I will do literally ALL of them.

That's not true on PS4/EU, prices range still between 15-20k per Nirncrux. Most likely an effect of the fact that we still have no global trader search system ...
