Latency issues

I have been having some severe latency issues since the last update. Bsed on the past I consider 100-150ms normal but lately it swings to about 500 and sometimes to 999+ creating severe rubberbanding issues. Yesterday, while fleeing a bunch of mobs, or rather, I thought* I was fleeing because suddenly I was in the middle of the pursuing mobs.
My due diligence shows that while the ESO latency indicator shows 500+ ms delay, my latency to Google varies between 45 and 65 ms. That suggests to me that it's not my connection to the internet. For the record, I'm on a 100mpbs connection with a 14ms ping to the server.
Several people that I know are also experiencing this, although not technically savvy to actually provide something more that the typical, "laaaaag!!!" I also mentioned this in /zone and I got a lot of similar replies but with the exception of one other post I see nothing. Is this not an issue for other people or is it not game-breaking enough to complain?

bmannb16_ESO✭✭✭I've been getting those for about 3 days now. Regular ping is around 120, now I'm spiking from 200-12k in cyrodil. Usually I get kicked for "message spamming". Hope,they fix this soon or it will be another year off from ESO.

Pnyx✭✭The irony is the ESO+ promo starting on the 5th. I am thinking of terminating my subscription. A buddy of mine was thinking about it but changed his mind. Pay extra for this ***? Good luck with that.0

Pnyx✭✭Long story short: It does not seem to be a Zenimax issue. Running a traceroute shows that somewhere in the way to the ESO server packets get lost. I fired up my VPN, set Eastern US as my server, then logeed into the game. Maximum latency that I'm experiencing in the last 1/2 hour is 150-200ms which is expected given my location in Western Canada. Normaly for me it's max 150.
This doesn't solve the problem for those without the mean to change their route but it may be of help to others.0
