Heh just came back to the game after a very long break. My issue is that I am out leveling everything way to fast. Yes there is scaling but that does me no good if no one is running the lower level dungeons at my level. ie I am already lvl 24 and have yet to run BC for example. I am having to skip whole areas of content to try to slow down my leveling. It is getting to the point that I am glad I have not yet bought the new expansion as I do not see the point in stay in the game if I can not enjoy the content. Is there no way to just turn off xp for a bit on a character?

You can't outlevel anything anymore due to scaling.

Why do you want to run dungeons with players at your lvl if everyone is scales so everyone has the same lvl...?

Seems you are a bit confused..so let me try to end your confusion or sort out some of this. First everything is battled leveled so think that there really are no levels. Mind you still progress and get stronger, but so does the world. It adapts to you, though you will slightly outpace in time. There's a lot of time yet... you are lvl 24 and yet I am 630 and still feel like there's many things still to do... as such even in life there.

ay I was not clear. Ok I wil try again. I am lvl 25 I understand that say BC will scale to my lvl. However if no one in my level ( at lvl 25 it is tier 3 dungeons) range is in the group finder qued for BC i do not get a group for it. As I understand it the group finder will not place me with a group of level 13's to run it. It is not that I want to run it at lvl 25 it is that I want to run it no matter if i am scaled down to 13 or a group is scaled up to my level or I am scaled to a higher level to run it. It is my understanding I will be placed in groups in my tier range for dungeons ie at 25 that is tier 3 dungeons. If i am mistaken at how it works

If you que you will be running it with anyone all the way to 630cp you will be battle lvled to 150cp I think.

Not sure I just know when I pug I get all sorts of lvls with me from very low lvl to cp lvls

Yes if it groups me with them. Will it just take people who que for say BC and go ok the first four that will make a sucessful group and then scale the people in the group? Or does it go ok lets take the first 4 qued that are in the same level range for it?

The queue only cares about your level when it comes to whether you can queue for veteran-mode dungeons, sub-50 cyrodiil campaigns, and restrictingbyou from selecting specific dungeons if you're too low

They don't care about the level range from what I've seen. My guess is it goes in order, because I've been setup multiple times with people of nearly ever level bracket. Can be a gift and a curse

hmm ok guess I have just had bad luck with the ques then. I just keep getting in a group for each tier of dungeon once. then the next time I get a group it is for the next tier of dungeon. Ty all for your responses

What these other ones have said, from 550-630 I queued random normals. I would get put into group with anyone from level 10 to cp 630+.

The dungeon finder tries to match players to the dungeon and the difficulty(Normal or Veteran). If you queue for normal BC1, you get placed at the back of the queue for your role. Once it gets to you, it tries to match you up with other people running a normal BC1 or people who don't care what dungeon they are put into. Most of the time, it's going to have difficulty matching up Tanks and Healers to your group, most might not even be able to match up to your dungeon. Plus, you can't forget, for every 1 Tank in queue, there are 2 healers and 1000 DPS. That's probably not the correct ratio, but you get the point, the wait time is long for DPS.

You misunderstand the entire system. Dungeons do not adapt to your lvl. You adapt to the world, the entire world is lvl 50 and your stats get boosted to adapt to that.

Yeah, stop thinking the world changes for you. No it doesn't. The entire map is effectively all Level 50 CP160, including ALL dungeons.

There are NO dungeon Tiers anymore. That system was scrapped along with mob levels.

Your character is always going to "battle-levelled" to CP 150 for everything you do, all content, and as you level your char, you will only get stronger to around level 45. After that, you will actually begin to feel a little weaker as the battle-levelling system ramps down the higher you go.

When you go to group finder, it literally places you with the first 4 people also queuing for the same dungeon. It doesn't care what level they are, or even what role they are playing (too much).

It does care what role you play, it's just that a lot of DD's queue as other roles to get in faster.

The One Tamriel system is not without flaws but it does prevent content from becoming obsolete which is a great thing for the longlivity of the game.
