On character slot.. did you guys know this?

Well, I just found this out (the hard way.) Not sure if there's already threads discussing this, but kind of hard digging through mountain pile of threads. So, I had previously purchased the two extra character slots (beyond the eight we're normally given; cool, thank you ZOS/dev for this) from the crown store and decided to delete one character (poor toon) so I can re-create a new one. However, I had the concoction/thought that I would be refunded that slot so I can create the new toon. Well, it doesn't seem to be the case. I now have 9 characters and nothing of a free character slot is showing on my character screen. It seems I lost that slot completely and will have to purchase another new slot. Damn, this sucks.. or, am I missing something?

My update (as of 07-06-17): Ok.. cool, I get it, Zenimax is a business, and a business is about making money and profit.. right. Then again, a business also improves upon its products and services.. I believe. Seems going on a month now and still character slot issue on character screen "ISN'T" fixed "YET".. nor is the other DW follow-on strike not working, shooting blank, issue. Damn, what the hell is up, Zen/ZOS?! All the while, new crown store shites keep popping up. Yeah, no use in getting upset or frustrated in a video game, but damn, peeps, and I'm not even complaining about the continuous lags and crashes galore. Should I keep up any shred of hope that is still lingering around?

Zen/ZOS's update (as of 07-05-17): Zero, nothing.. nada!

    Surely that's a bug? I mean if this was intended then that's probably the shadiest thing I've ever heard of ZOS doing :(

    Oh.. there is hope. There is a light somewhere. Ok, maybe I will have to wait it out for a few more and see if that slot will pop up later. Already tried rebooting a few times. Ok, thanks for this. If it doesn't show up anytime later, I guess I'll throw in a trouble ticket to good ole ZOS.

    This sounds like it's definitely a bug. Send in a support ticket.

    just a guess. are you sure you really deleted the char, and it just doesnt show cos you have to scroll down?

    I deleted a character I'd made with a bought extra character slot, and the character slot was still there and still useable. It must be a bug.

    I also bought a character slot and almost deleted my new character because I wanted to change my race but decided to roll with it eventually just a few weeks ago. After reading this thread, good thing I didn't.

    Yeah, I would hold off deleting any character and expected to get refunded a free slot in its place until it is rectified by ZOS/dev whenever that will be. I had submitted a support ticket, and someone from the Zen/ZOS lounge had responded quite fairly quick. However, how prompt (thank you for promptness, ZOS, by the way) it may be, initially they thought I wanted to reinstated my just deleted character, and if doing so, there may be a chance that my bank may be deleted. I was like, what?! No, I don't want my bank deleted and no, I don't want my deleted toon to be reinstated.. I want my free slot!! Ha ha. Yeah, this blows.. but kudos from the prompt responses by the ZOS them, even thought there is no current resolution. Ehh, not really that bad. I still have 9 active toons. Not sure when this fix or patch will come about, though.

    Same here and guess what, same reaction about reinstating my character. Hope this bug gets an higher priority than the upper craglorn achievement bug . Thats under investigation for months now ;)
    The only way you you can create a new character at this moment is when you delete 1 more . I you have 6/8 or 7/9 etc.

    You want them to *do* something and listen to what your issue is correctly? You expect way too much, they can either look at key words and make a quick assumption and get it horribly wrong, or they can understand exactly what you want, and they tell you they can't do anything, no where will you ever get a combo of them listening and doing it right.

    Wow, so I didn't realize this bug has been ongoing since Morrowind release, but not so surprising, though; even for the matter that it's going on a month now since release and still no fix. I actually bought more crowns and was going to purchase the additional slot thing from the crown store before throwing up this post. I haven't purchase the additional slot yet, and now, I am more hesitant to do so. If I do purchase it, will it show up on my character screen? I'm just hesitant to risk dropping 1500 crowns and not having a free character slot. Hmmm

    This is the answer. If you had 10 and deleted one you should have 9 characters left and the ability to create a new one. I have deleted one after purchasing additional slots without issue. Though I do not know if I deleted a character since Morrowind launched.

    BTW, there are 4 more slots you can purchase. 4 were added for purchase about a year ago.

    Can someone tell me how to submit a support ticket? I've been missing a character slot ever since the Morrowind update, and that's just of the regular 8 you get. It says I have 7/8 characters but there is no way to make that 8th character any more and I had no problems until the update.

    ETA: I'm on ps4.

    @Silathra, you can either submit any support ticket while in-game in the help option, then customer service, but it will just be a generic one. They'll then get back to you via your personal email, and then you can elaborate more on what the issue is. You can also submit via the support link of this forum, but I think it's another registration, username sign-on, whatnot, that you have to do. It's been a while since I submitted something via this forum support.

    However, I wouldn't bother submitting your ticket. If you scrolled up somewhere on this thread, I posted I did the same and really still in the waiting game for the developer to do something about it. Apparently, they are aware, but no further details or updates have been broadcasted about this issue.. (or any other ongoing ones that have since popped up with this Morrowid patch.) This has been a known issue, apparently, even before I popped up this thread on it.

    I would also say it is a bug and you should get your slot back, when you delete a char

    Ha ha, yes.. we know it's a bug, and we know that they know it's a bug, and I'm sure that they know that we know it's bug. We just don't know when we will that free slot back.. or, if they are working on it, or how far along have they been working on it. :(

    Thanks for letting me know! It is a shame that they don't seem to do much of anything about all the problems people report - just give us more and more stuff to buy in the crown store. That's why I haven't put in much effort trying to figure out how to report this problem directly to them. I haven't heard great things about their customer service.

    Thats a bug for sure. I've got extra slots and I've deleted a char a few weeks ago, but the slot didnt disappear.
