What Happens after level 50

Im getting close to hitting level 50 for the first time and I have some questions. I am fairly attached to the Ebonheart Pact and I don't necessarily want my alliance to change.

So my question is this: After I hit level 50 and play thru the main quest I've been told that Cadwell asks me if I'd like to experience a world in which I never existed i.e. pick a different starting point. So does that mean that if I'm Ebonheart pact now does my alliance change if I select a different starting point or does my initial choice when I created my character still stand?

Thanks

You keep your original alliance and currently the only way to change that is roll another toon.

No, you will still be EP. You will just be able to play the DC and AD main storyline through as well.

Your alliance stays the same, though this really only affects you in Cyrodiil. You'll move on to the DC quest line and grind all the way throught that, before Cadwell sends you off to grind all the way through AD. At least when you complete the next set of grinding he'll give you the Soul Shriven motif book.
Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".

Your alliance doesn't change. It just opens up Cadwell's Almanac.

Since One Tamriel, you don't even need to wait for this anymore if you wanted to try quests in different faction zones. You can already do quests anywhere in the world, just ask somebody to help you unlock the wayshrine.

It just lets you run through the other alliance quests. You will retain your Ebonheart Pactness.

And, you don't need to follow Caldwell's lead either. You can bounce around from Zone to Zone as you see fit and do what you want.

I will say the Caldwell Quests, which are essentially the Zone Main Quests, do give nice chunks of Exp and Champ Points. You can do these zone quests under Caldwells Guidance, or not. In fact, you can do them all without talking to him, then come back and tell him you did them and he will still reward you if you completed them. Although he will reward Silver before Gold.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

IMHO, alliance is meaningless in ONE TAMRIEL aside form PVP.

Go anywhere, do anything, at any time :)

Well, since getting to level 50 is only about 25% of the PvE content (without any DLCs) you probably want to play the other 75% of the game.

Ok so basically after I tell him to start me over just follow his lead for the zone main quests to get decent chunks of Exp and Champ Points?

    Clueless, but willing to learn.

Yes, upon completion you will also receive the full soulshriven motif as well.(not that anyone ever crafts using that motif, it looks rather ragged, though I do sometimes craft the toothpick curved swords)

Cadwell suggests you experience your enemy and essentially this means starting in enemy territory all over - you will obviously keep your level and gear but all the npc lines and whatnot will be the same as those for someone who'd have originally chosen that alliance; you will again be addressed as a Vestige etc. Your alliance doesn't change, but only thing alliance really affects at this point is PvP. You will still be EP - just EP doing DC and then AD(if you follow the story) storyline.

Several things to keep in mind - first, this does not happen after reaching level 50, this happens whenever you finish the main story line, which is no longer level gated and can technically all be done in a row at level 10 (though you would likely level up quite a bit doing it).

Second, this changes absolutely nothing. You can actually go to AD and DC zones now, without Cadwell's invitation, because One Tamriel opened all the borders. It won't make much sense storywise but it's totally possible. You also don't have to do these even after Cadwell gives you the quest. You can simply do dlc zones, Vvardenfell and Craglorn instead if you prefer. I'd suggest exploring though, I really enjoyed some if the AD/DC zones. I think my absolute favorite is Grahtwood, followed by Rivenspire.

Cool, I've basically been holding on to the final quest until I get to level 50 so I could kinda play how the story was originally meant to be played.

After leaving the wailing prison he eventually ends up in "the harborage" I believe, but it may not be until you've completed the harborage quest line.

We don't worry about scouring a trial for chests and heavy sacks until after it's cleared. As long as you don't open it, it'll still be there when you're done. That way, the players that are only there for the kills can do that and move on. Afterwards, we all go and check everywhere for heavy sacks and chests.
