Is Viper mandatory in battlegrounds? No CP = gear, and skills only.
Viper and Velidreth seems to be the norm.
Why no diversity?
Are the other proc sets for Stam garbage?
I tank and heal so I don't care what proc set is best.
It seems like a lack of creativity in players or are the gear sets heavily unbalanced forcing dps to run these sets more than others?

✭I've seen all classes stam or mag work pretty well in battlegrounds.
You can get away with not using them, but they hit as hard or harder than most skills and even a few ultimates in no CP pvp, so not really mandatory, but you are intentionally playing with a handicap in BGs if you don't use at least one.PC/NA - Nightfighters, Raid Leader and Officer

The issue is that sustain is challenging in non-CP situations. The advantage of proc sets is that you can go full on regen because your damage stats don't affect the proc damage. With high regen you can dodge roll your way to victory by making the opposition use resources on attacks that never land. Once out of resources, they can't avoid the proc burst. It's even less complicated against unskilled players.
If you do the same without proc sets you'll never generate enough DPS to kill a half decent player.1 -

I suppose until they adjust the scoring system, sorcs tend to get the most ranged executes with implosion and mages fury, so they certainly get credit for a lot of kills.
But if you are just talking about surviving in 4v4v4, Wardens, templars and DKs do OK as well.

I believe it somehow related on the max corresponding stat (i.e. Stamina for Viper and Mag for Ilambris, but not sure)- PC EU. Ebonheart Pact. CP 1k+

Kerioko✭✭✭✭Aside from your standard procblades, I am not seeing as much viper/vele as much as I am other proc combos.
Viper/Selene seems to be the most popular among stamblades with the good old ambush/suprise attack/incap combo, but I am noticing a lot of other stam classes running red mountain/valkyn and using bloodthirst as their primary spam.
Every now and then I see a stam DK in heavy armor and running tremorscale and viper still. Most DK's seem to be magicka nowadays though.
