Help Me Choose My Third Character

I'm thinking of starting a 3rd character as a RP exercise; I primarily play PVE but may eventually try PvP on the right character but that might be a 4th. I haven't been playing very long, my 1st is an Altmer Sorcerer at level 25, my 2nd is a Nord Templar at level 9. So I'm thinking of creating a character for the DC alliance. Now, when I started the game I had spent some time with characters in EP and DC before deciding on AD. Since I have AD and EP characters, I'd like to go with DC on a 3rd.

The other thing is my Altmer is an upstanding (mostly) citizen that only steals since the Queen doesn't pay well; I'm not planning on having him become an assassin or a thief. I'm planning on using my Nord for some fun hack & slash play style. So for a 3rd character I would like to have him be that assassin/thief I don't have.

My choices for DC are Breton, Redguard, Orc, or, if I buy the feature, Imperial.

So which combination of those races and classes would make the best assassin and/or thief?

If you want to RP in DC, create a breton merchant.

Redguard would make good assassin /thief. They have natural cover in dark, negative is that they are easier to see during day time.

Orc would make good assassin /thief.
They have no hesitation for killing or dying if they follow the code of malacath, negative is they are quite clumsy.

Breton would make good assassin /thief.
They have natural cover in light, negative is that they are easier to see during the night

I would go with a Breton nightblade.

I don't like pushing purchases if you're set on a Dagger Covenant character (because you'd have to buy any race/any alliance package for my recommendation) but in my experience I have had a ton of fun with this build for assassin/thief:

Khajiit Nightblade
7 medium armor
- 3 pc Night Terror
- 5 pc Nightmother's Embrace
- fill last slots as you see fit

The combination of Kjahiit racial detection reduction + medium armor sneak passives + Night Terror and Nightmother's Embrace detection reduction is beautiful.

Khajiit also gets a passive that increases your pickpocket chances. Bosmer would also be a fine choice.

Note: If you want to RP with putting a Khajiit or Bosmer into Daggerfall Covenant, might I suggest basing said RP off of this quest?

It's a quest in which Khajiit and Bosmer are being treated awfully by Altmer Dominion soldiers, which would easily allow you to play as an escaped recruit who heads north to align him/herself with DC and seek revenge upon the Dominion.

Once you go Orc, you never go back.

Release your bloodlust in cyrodiil as any other race, and your allies will look down apon you.

As an orc, people will even follow your brutal actions. With an orcs determination, it does not matter if you are right or wrong.
Everyone can hear and see where you are going. Including the enemy...which you want them to.

Earn your honor on the battlefield, and learn how to control the enemy by your sheer presence.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I will give some thought to a Khajiit or Breton NB. I like the RP idea GrumpyDuckling but looking at the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood quests I don't see myself getting much revenge on the Dominion unless I'm missing something.

That's not a big deal as I'm not a huge roleplayer; I really just start with a RP idea and go from there, it's more of a pretense to play. Still if some of my targets and marks are Dominion, all the better!

I think I will leave the Orcs for PvP.
