When you kill an enemy...

There are several sets that give a boon when you kill an enemy, like vicious serpent.
Does this mean you actually have to land the killingblow or do you just have participate in killing it?

✭✭✭✭In PvE it's enough when you contribute enough to get XP. In PvP this may differ. Vicious Death needs the killing blow, as far as I have heard.5
