Stambuild with VO and TFS - DW with one or two sharp weapons?

The RNG gods blessed me this weekend with both a sharp VO 1h axe and a sharp TFS 1h sword.

I was thinking of pairing these two together, but what if I only use one sharp and something else instead? If so I could respec two of my stambuilds. Will the pen from TFS and one sharp weapon be good enough or will the loss of dps be significant?

I vaguely remember seeing some info on the subject in the past but couldn't find it again. Appriciate any input (even memes  )

I wouldn't run tfs weapons since you loose the 5pc bonus on the backbar and you have to stack up the pen again.

But generally you could use one infused weapon in your mainhand instead of sharpened yes.

Great thx! Someone said you don't loose the bonus if you swap back before the 3sec timer runs out?

I'll probably try to build so I keep 5pcs TFS up all the time and only loose the VO bonus on the backbar.

Yeah no you'll never stay on your bow bar for less than 3 seconds considering that you have at least 4 skills to apply there: Trap, Hail, Caltrops, Injection. That's already at least 4.4 seconds, that's if your execution time is basically perfect. So yeah, the point is: never use TFS weapons.

As far as gear goes, I've been getting best results on a stamblade with 5 Hunding's (Sharp Dagger + Sharp Axe) 5 TFS (on body and jewelry) 2 Kra'gh and a Sharp vMA Bow. Highest solo dps is 47.4k so far:

You could replace the Hunding's with VO, Alkosh, War Machine or Automaton depending on your class. But VO is probably only worth it on Templar, considering that on Sorc and DK you heavy attack pretty much all the time and are good with sustain and that Nightblades have very cheap skills on the front bar (and even free casts like the Bow proc and Incap). And after all, VO would only be good if it were active on the back bar, where you have all the most expensive skills like Hail and Caltrops. So I suggest to just use TFS and Hunding's. Easy to get, insane deeps.

Good point - didn't think about that.

    Thx for the input

Just to offer a counterpoint, I use all sharp TFS weapons on my stam sorc. My back bar has buffs with two dots (poison injection and endless hail) so I don't consider it a huge dps loss, and it allows me to run VO+TFS.

Not to steal your thread, but do you have suggestions for bow enchants? I don't want double barred crusher or weapon damage, so poison, disease, or something else?

With TFS and two sharpened weapons you won't be able to reach the physical penetration cap (since that requires other debuffs on enemies), so in your case two sharpened weapons are better, but as someone already mentioned, your TFS buff will wear off on your backbar, which will lose you more dps than you would gain. In terms of dps penetration is usually the best, at least for stam builds, as TFS outdoes other setups and because there is a lack of good "increases weapon damage" sets like magicka builds have access to (Scathing, BSW, etc.).
