Hi mates
I'm just returned 630cp sorcerer
I haven't gear from vMSA and Trials (I have frost vmsa staff but now it useless) but have Elegance Julianos and Necropotence gear in bank
so what is better option for me now:
1) 5 necro 5 julianos 1 shoulder

or overload build:
2) 5 julianos 5 elegance 2 monster (ilambris divines)

I need help to make competitive build for vmSA|raids|HM's for close future. I wanna try Elegance overload but I m not sure it reaaly cost it (but its my old playstyle)

As a formal Elegant overload user I can tell you that you will be left unimpressed by overload in its current state. I feel bad for my 2 Sharpened Elegant swords that just collect dust now but it's just not really viable anymore except maybe if your ganking players in pvp even than it's quite easy to avoid.

You only can save up 500 ultimate now rather than 1000 which severely hurt the build. I would also not recommend slotting mages wrath only on your overload bar because of multiple reasons.
A - Overload bar takes a couple seconds to activate and get into which for one will kill your dps if your going for serious Hm trials and is also clunky to weave skills in on overload bar.
B - With buffs to Lightning (8%increased AOE damage) and Fire destro staves (8% single target damage) you will be missing out on either 8% of your AOE damage skills when going into overload or making your Mages wrath hit 8% less on overload bar.
    C - Destro Ultimate Wrecks

I would recommend running 5 Necro 2 Illambris 3 Moondancer or Infallible Jewelry, 1 Lightning Moondancer or Infallible staff front bar, 1 Maelstrom Inferno staff back bar. I'm able to pull over 40k on a test dummy self buffed.

One idea I do have you could try would be 4 Necro Body, 2 Illambris, 1 Elegant Body, 3 Elegant Jewelry, 1 Elegant Sharpened Lightning Staff on front bar, and 1 Necro Sharpened Inferno staff on back bar. You would just want to make sure you use your pet ability on your back bar since your pets damage scales on max magicka which will be much higher on your Necro staff bar. Than your heavy attack weaves would be done on your front bar which would be increased by 20% from Elegant staff bar. Would be curious of the results if you have the gear to try this.

Elegant overload sucks don't go for it. ZOS killed that ultimate big time.

If you have a necro set I'd say just go with a pet build. They're very powerful and you can pretty easily get enough DPS out of it for trials and such. I had an idea about trying 5 elegant and 5 netch thinking the big boost to shock damage from netch might make up somewhat for the 50% loss of max overload the ultimate nerf gave. Plus you could have a really solid set up on your main 2 bars still. You wouldn't want to play it like an old school overload build but still seems like it could be powerful. I haven't had the time to farm everything that would be needed to try it though. Who knows, it might totally suck

Check out Netch's touch as an alternative to Julianos - They changed health bonus to spell crit, and I'm not a fan of pets so I'm using netch right now until I finish golding my scathing mage set.

I've found that Illambris 2pc is just too good to not use... I tried 1 kena with 5 netch 5 scathing/ 1 kena 5 elegance 5 netch and got better test results on the dummy with good old willpower jewelry and netch.

Unless you stack magic on a pet necro build, 5/5/1 builds seem to me to be more work (excluding heavy attack builds) for similar results on dps tests compared to 5/2/3 with a sharpened gold anystaff or master/maelstrom staves coupled with a monster set.

I only use overload in PvP for the extra bar and serving up the cheese.

I don't like pets, and I'm tiring of Netch because it won't boost fire on Illambris and things that proc Ilambris. So, I'm going Scathing because the proc is under better conditions in my opinion for the skills I prefer to use.

Element is a super strong sustain set because it gives you a damage buff while you are heavy attacking to restore resources or light attacking overload to restore resources.

I would only use elegance on a sorc as a resource return set personally.

I would suggest looking at Alcast and Tamriel Foundry for gearing and build ideas. It is a great source.

It all really depends if you want to run a pet build or not. If you run a pet, I would go with Necro, Illambris and willpower jewelry until you can get moondancer jewelry. Run spell damage on the jewelry, lightning staff on front bar and inferno on back bar. If you want more survivability resto staff on back bar with healing Ward and keep your buffs/shields on that bar. Always keep power surge up too. The scamp is a great choice for pet build. As for ultimates I find that Elemental rage and overlord are great options. I put my executes on my overlord bar. Make sure to have inner light and your pet on that bar too.

Elegance is still a good set combined with Julianos and illambris. If you're not running a pet just flex that slot out for another damage ability out for something like haunting curse and elemental drain or impulse (for situations with a lot of adds) Sorcs have a lot of options for survivability and damage. Just experminet with what works best for you. :)

i was fun of pets when created this character in 2014  but not now) so its a question between my wishes to play non-brain overload spammer and efficiency
