It's been like that since One Tamriel update. You find ore relevant to your crafting level - do writs to get other ingots, or buy ore from Guild Stores.

    The way it works is:

The ore you find in the world corresponds to your characters level AND to the which ore you can work with as a balacksmith, I forget the name of the skill, it's the first skill in the blacksmithing skills.

So if you are level 50 and have no points in that skill, you will find Rubedite AND iron, nothing else. If you habe that blacksmithing skill maxed, you will find ONLY rubedite.

Beware the battle cattle, but don't *fear* the battle cattle!

@Luciferazazell Half the ore that spawns should be relevant to your character level, and the other half to your crafting perks. If you want a specific ore for some reason, you can level your blacksmithing to the level for it. :p

Most materials are nigh useless once you hit cp160 anyways, unless you like crafting gear for alts ever 5 levels.
