So I found this thread on Endgame content, as that's where I am now...

Two things stood out.

First, someone was saying that doing trials "makes money". This I don't understand.. I don't know, maybe I'm dumb. But as a recent thread I started showed me, there is a LOT that the game doesn't tell you, and might not even emerge from normal interactions in guilds

Second, someone was talking about progression trials. What does progression mean in this context?

Bosses drop "Undaunted Plunder". Which you can sell for 1k gold each at a vendor. Can only obtain them in Vet trials.

Progession trials refers to a group that cannot complete said trial yet, and is progressing through it. Which usually takes quite a few attempts spanning many days.

    1. vTrials drop plunder that sells for 12k if just a normal run
    2. Progression team is a group of people trying to get through difficult content together usually for the first time. You will see progression groups for vMoL and vHoF( or what it's really called vet Hassle Hoff)

OK thanks. I'm looking forward to trying to progress.

Don't think I'm ever gonna end up with mega gold though. We'll see

You are expected by practically all groups to use crafted Spell Pots or crafted Weapon Pots in Vet trials, spending them every 45sec while in battle. These maintain important buffs as well as help sustain your resources.

These pots are considerably expensive, and Undaunted Plunder earned in a Vet trial is not even close to enough to earn back what you spend.

Vet trial = large net loss in gold per run due to crafted potion usage, soul gem cost, and repairs.

Progressions group runs can be very costly. They are essentially groups that are attempting to get through a Vet trial for the first time, which involves a ton of time and deaths.

Most really good guilds will carry players through vMoL and get them the Dromathra skin for like 1M-2M gold, which is then split amongst the raid members as a way to fund them with gold for potions.

It's a terribly thought out system that was created when ZOS decided to remove BoE (aka sellable) sets from Vet trials and make them all BoP. Now the endgame Vet trial population is miniscule, and you are expected more than ever to be highly skilled and use crafted Spell/Weapon pots to join a team.
