There are few armor sets that interest me, so I am soon starting to farm them all. I wanted to hear other opinions to whether what sets I should combine with each other. This thread is concerned with best PVP armor set combinations. However, I would also appreciate your suggestions for best PVE sorc build.

I am magicka sorcerer, 500CP. I am currently running full necropetence + 3 willpower + Infernal Guardian. As you can say I am currently running a pet sorc build, but I want to try dual wield & other combinations of armor sets to suit the pet build.

Here are the sets: 1 - sets that interest me the most. 2 - sets that I might consider to farm

1
Red Mountain set (for proc)
Shround of the Lich set (sustain)
Knight Slayer set (heavy attack build)
Netch's touch set (shock abilities boost)
Burning Spellweave (spell damage boost)
Necropetence (max magicka boost)

2
Mother's Sorrow (boost crit chance)
Spinner's Gartment's (penetration boost)
Vicious death (would be cool in BGs)

I am looking for best armor sets combinations for three types of build:
Dual Wield
Heavy attack Lightening staff
Inferno staff standart build
Double destruction staff

Thanks everyone!

Most common is 5 Necropotence, 3 Moondancer (4 if you have a staff), 2 Illambris, and a maelstrom staff on your blockade bar. Without a pet, you'd often replace Necro with Netch, maybe Julianos depending on the staves you use.

I do know someone that uses 5 Moondancer, 2 Illambris, and 3 Willpower. Arguably the strongest non-pet setup, but you have to keep up with the Moondancer synergy buffs. In that case, or in the other build if you don't have an md staff, you'd use a maelstrom or master staff on frontbar with damage poisons.

I assume that is for PVE, since the Moondancer gives the 5% boost of damage to Trial & dungeons mosnters + the Illambris set. What about PVP then? What would you suggest?

Mother's sorrow is really not ideal for PvP, since impen is so commonplace there. Spinner's would be far better. These days a lot of people are liking Amber Plasm as well, especially for battlegrounds. I am not really a fan of the best build for this or that, since I dont believe such a thing exists. My suggestion is to do what I do...try a lot of different sets at purple quality and find our what works best for you. Obviously some sets are better than others, but in the end its all about how you play. I prefer heavy armor for PvP myself...Rattlecage for instance ads a lot or survivability and a good 5 piece bonus...at the cost of regen. I think Rattle/Amber Plasm would make a good combo myself, at least for my particular playstyle. You may not like it at all.

I run 5 Infallible, 2 Skoria, and 4 Magnus. I don't use pets and my sorc does his job well. Tons of lightning and tons of dots. Lots of meteors and my sustain is nearly 100%. Heavy attack builds are boring, but extremely effective. I wish ZoS hadn't forced the player base into such a limited combat option in order to be effective...
