imperial vs gold w/ dlc

I have the ESO imperial edition and i wanted to buy the DLC pack to access other parts of tamriel but the price of buying the DLC pack is actually greater than the Gold Edition itself w/c already includes the DLC. why is that? it is already steam sale and there is no discount on dlc packs,. so im being forced for the Gold edition eso. does that mean that my imperial edition will be useless?
I was hoping the 4 DLC pack was cheaper for the ones who already owned ESO wanting to expand experience. pricing is weird vs Gold edition.

The pricing is wierd.

Because you can buy the 4-pack dlc with crowns it obviously is cheaper if you stocked up during the crown sale.

Be careful buying the gold edition. I believe (haven't tested though) that it will set up a new account, so it will be separate from your current account and the new account won't have the imperial edition upgrade or any of your progress.

Outside of crown sales the eso plus subscription is generally better value than just buying crowns because you get access to the dlc and a similar haul of crowns.

It's been this way for a while.

My guess is because the DLC is done via "crowns" for the most part they don't get much discount chance, where's the gold edition as with all base games becomes devalued over time.

Also this isn't new in any kind of sales, look at internet or phone subscriptions where they will offer new customers better deals than the ones who already have a package, the idea is to get more people in cheap then hope they stick around and pay more.

I guess ill just go with subscription for now.. my other question is if any has tried. can i cancel the subscription at any point in time? then re subscribe as i see fit. what will happen to my craft bag when i unsubscribe and re subscribe? ty

You can un-sub at any time. The time paid on your sub will continue until it runs out...Example: if you sub for 1 month and then unsubscribe in one week...your sub AND the benefits will continue until the 30 days are over.

The crafting bag works the same way....as long as your sub is still active. You can continue to place things into your bag until your "subscription time" runs out.

After that you can no longer put things INTO your bag...but you CAN take things out.

One thing to be aware of is that the game will always pull items from the crafting bag before your inventory or bank. So you can't just dump stuff into the crafting bag and then keep it there until you need it, eventually you'll end up with a bunch of stuff in your inventory/bank and an empty crafting bag.

But other than that you can start and stop the sub as you like. You'll always get the full time you paid for - twice now I've bought a 30 day sub, logged in to make sure it did go through and I got everything I'm supposed to and then cancelled the renewal immediately and I still got the full 30 days, I just don't get charged for another month.

yes thats exactly what i wanted,. to unsubscribe and re sub when i wanted to. coz there are time that i dont really have all the time for playing.
