New Alliance Point Concepts.

Here are a few concepts that could make the Emperor-ship race more enjoyable.




Concept 1: Daily Alliance Point Caps
This idea is to counter act players who spent very long play sessions in pvp to make it more healthy and satisfying for the Emperor race regardless of build or how much you play. The goal of this concept is to make it so farming alliance points over long periods of time in 1 sitting is no longer necessary. There will now be a daily alliance point cap's for various things. This will make various tasks in pvp much more valuable instead of just farming alliance points from players or flipping empty keeps/resources.

New Concept:
  • Daily Alliance Point kill cap.
  • Daily Alliance Point Keep/Resource capture cap.
  • Daily Alliance Point Keep/Resource Defensive tick cap.
  • Daily Alliance Player bounty/scout/ keep,resource,scroll capture cap's.

With this concept, you could theoretically finish your daily alliance point objective caps and no longer receive any more alliance points. This means that players who play for 24 hour play sessions at the beginning of a campaign will be at a loss because of this cap. This means people who complete there alliance point caps on a daily basis have a chance to obtain emperorship compared to the one player who plays none stop and risks his/her own health because of it.

This also may increase objective based play because if you finish all your Daily Alliance Point "quests", you may only have a scroll capture left to do. Which means players may be forced into taking scrolls or keeps that are heavily guarded for that last bit of daily alliance points.

Concept 2: Leaderboard Alliance Point Decay
This concept is to give more players an opportunity to obtain emperor-ship and make the emperor-ship race more fun.

New Concept:
When an Emperor is dethroned you loose 1 million alliance points towards the leader-board (on 30 day campaign).
Every day while on the leader-boards you loose leader-board alliance points based on position. (1st: 500k, 2nd:450k, 3rd: 400k, etc)

What this achieves is a Emperor-ship race that lasts the entire campaign. On a daily basis the players on the leader-boards are losing alliance leaderboards score. What this does is make the top ten easier to obtain because the overall range of alliance points of players on the leaderboards is much lower.

This also means someone who is dedicated to playing and obtaining emperor must play continuously or wait on position 11 then make a push for emperor on a weekend.

If a campaign is flipping emperor's all the time, more and more emperors will be crowned. More people will be obtaining it, more people will be trying to go for it. This means that it is not likely that an Emperor on one alliance is going to obtain it several times on one campaign. This also increases the types of builds you will see as Emperor instead of just Eye of the Storm Bombers or healers.

Concept 3: No Emperor leaderboard alliance point contribution.
This concept is to prevent Emperors from skyrocketing their alliance point leader-board score due to the strength of the emperor passives.

New Concept:
While Emperor, alliance points obtained do not contribute towards the leader-board.

    Or just scrap the concept of Emperors so all 3 factions don't stack into the last emp keep each night for hours at a time making the whole server unplayable.

    interesting subject...personally the leaderboards are are out of reach for me...

    however, where I someone who could get on the leaderboards - i would definitely like these changes...

    I'm sure some folks whom enjoy those top positions would have a differing view, but, seems as though what you suggest would be a little more fair for all...

    The first Idea I would straight up rule out. Nothing should negatively affect your AP gain. If you play 14 hours a day 7 days a week you deserve more AP than everyone else. I Understand your perspective on it but also see it from a business point of view, ZoS wants to reward excessive play, these players are their best customers (more or less).

    The other 2 have viability though, given it only affects your leaderboard AP gaining not your ACTUAL AP gaining. The second is a bit complicated and again, ties back to the point that people who play more deserve more AP than you, they earned it.

    The third is the most viable in my opinion, its not something I would want but it could be argued for on the premise of "ok you made emp you had your fun, now give someone else a turn". Whether or not that is a philosophy people agree with or not I dunno. I don't but I know some people take that stance.

    Have to agree. People will pvp regardless of emperorship.

    Concept 3 is ok.

    I hate the other ones though. The problem with the cap for each individual way of earning AP is it makes it feel like a daily quest... and i hate daily quests. What happens if you are unable to play on a particular day and miss out on that days AP? Like atm you can take a few days off. Plus taking scrolls is bad and will hurt your chances of crowning emp.

    The second option sounds like some crazy emperor flipping fest. What happens if your faction is not able to capture 6 emperor keeps for the entire campaign anyway? You could deliberately earn less AP so you don't lose as much AP, knowing that the faction won't be crowning emp until next week.
