Cat, Khajiit and allergy

Are those who are allergic to cats also to Khajiits?
Yes, I'm doing that quest in Morrowind with that High Elf who is allergic to cat, but can speak to me -- a giant kitty -- without any problem. So I'm wondering if my fur is different than Alfiqs.

Regular housecats and Khajiit Alfiq are not the same thing. He is allergic to housecats, not necessarily to his furry kinsmer.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

What the big difference between an Alfiq and me then for an allergy?

No one knows, in-game Alfiq are masters of sneak... you don't see them And if you do, you do not know they are Alfiq.

If Khajiit consumes enough Skooma Moon Sugar, it suppresses the nasty things that make allergic people sneeze

This is an assumption: In real life, house cats have a protein on their saliva and skin that cause the majority of allergic reactions. I assume that Khajiit (probably including Alfiq) simply do not have it.

That quest probably involved regular housecats and not Khajiit Alfiq.

I consume a lot of... Erm... Moon Sugar. That's probably why he was not affected by me.

I always thought it was the hairs which cause an allergy. Thanks for the informations.
And I always thought all housecats are Alfiq. This one needs to improve his knowledge about his own people.

It might be the fur for some people, the protein is just the most common cause. But the protein is transferred to the fur through grooming, so I imagine it is common for people to think they are allergic to the fur specifically.
