How do you start God of Schemes quest??

So I am playing this on my warden character but I don't remember how God of Schemes quest started, I currently don't have any quests or given any quests for the main story.. I think ZOS should revamp the coldharbor part of the main quest because it is really getting annoying..

You need to first do enough of the story in your alliance area to end the planemeld yes. You know the go to the islands and meet the rulers and so and so.

Once you have done that bit then the annoying purple old man will most probably return and you will be wishing he will go away again yes.

That doesn't make sense, Do you mean I need to do quests in my faction area and then I will be contacted for the main quest ?

I have done all the other main quests already and currently doing coldharbor quests..

This one she thinks you need to complete Coldharbour and then you get to continue the main quest and then do God of Schemes.

At least this is the way this one she recalls it.

Don't remember specifically which quest God of Schemes is, but in order to progress in Coldharbour you need to save enough people in the lower part of it to open the top part and go from there. Generally you should always have a main quest though, didn't you get Army of Meridia right upon arrival?

You don't have to do the main faction quests (that's a myth), just finish the Main quests and the Coldharbour quests, that messages around Tamriel quest will pop up if you run to the The Harbourage and back till all the Main quests are done.

Usually you need to do your faction quests to get to Coldharbour no? Unless you travel to a friend already there or something.

Travel to the first main zone of your alliance and you will be greeted by a hooded figure. That will start a mini version of the original tutorial and should open up the original main quest chain.

I believe you will need to complete those to open up the Coldharbour quests.

I don't think you will need to do your alliance quests though.

No, you are taken to Coldharbour after the messages around Tamriel quest, which is given from doing the Main quests.

Faction quests are not needed.

Please read the thread before posting, once again.. I have done all the main quests apart from God of Schemes.. I am currently doing the coldharbor quests.

There's no relation between faction quests and Coldharbour. You basically get there as soon as main storyline gets you there, and main storyline pops instantly with new quest after having completed previous one(it used to be level gated, every 5 levels I think, but not since One Tamriel).

I've finished Coldharbour and main storyline(defeated Molag Bal) after barely having finished 2 zones in my alliance on one of my characters. Could've done it was faster too.

No need to be a jerk! I did read where you said you have no main quests. You did not state you had completed them. Many have been confused how to start those quests since Morrowind.

I have no time for people who ask for help and then are rude to those that attempt to help them.
