With the nerf of BSW, is there any reason for me to use a fire staff on my back bar if I'm replacing my BSW for julianos? Assuming the healer doesn't use lightning wall, would using lightning wall for concussion be better than a fire wall? I'm also using illambris and moondancer and I'm a dark elf.
Side note: With the changes to sustainability is it better to run 7 light or 5/1/1?
Depends on how you want your build to operate. If you want both procs on Ilambris, then keep the fire staff or use the fire rune from mages guild. However if you decide you're going lightning/lightning, then maybe consider Netch's Touch instead of Julianos and go nuts with lightning attacks.
In an optimized group (healer running blockade) you will pull max DPS with a pet build, necro, and fire back bar. With a non-pet build, netchs touch with double lighting is your best bet. In four man stuff and when solo, I always go double lighting. The reality is that it's really close. The answer is honestly whatever sharp VMA staff you have. Haha
As for 7 or 5/1/1, that's more of a judgement call. If you are doing a HA build, you really don't need the extra sustain. I am still going 5/1/1 on my sorc.
Personally, I think Lightning/Lightning with Grothdarr is better for solo and 4-man. For trials, someone should be putting a Blockade of Storms down for the group. If it's not someone else it should be you. Otherwise go with Fire on the back bar.

Agree, grothdar is pretty solid solo. Skoria is also not bad, especially if you need a little extra health. It can also be worn in a raid. The difference between monster sets is really not all that much. If running back bar fire, ilambris is your best bet.
I'd say that its mostly your call and very largely depends on what you're doing, but considering that everyone is heavy attacking in raids, the more shock blockades your group has the better for the overall DPS. I mean DKs use Power Lash which consumes off-balance, Sorcs do heavy attacks 24/7 which also consumes the off-balance, and every stamina build is going to do a heavy attack from time to time also. So in our case, we have 5 Blockades of Shock in our group: 2 healers, 2 Sorcs, 1 tank (yeah you read that right).
