Warden bear and ways it can actually be useful

I'm a big fan of the bear and all the silly little glitches it has and the nice damage it does. But the thing is, when I attack a target quickly and have to wait 5 seconds for my bloody bear to walk over and hit them, thats way to long. If I hit my ultimate the bear should have some sort of mechanic to near instantly reach it's target

It's a real shame the big iconic part of the warden class isn't really worth slotting for anything more than cool-factor.

It takes two ultimate slots and is nearly completely useless.

They ought to have a range check on the ulti. If your bear is not already in melee range, it instantly materializes at the target (like it does when you first summon it) and whacks the target.

If you're on PC, you can command him to engage first. That could cut down on the travel time after combat is initiated.

You can command it on console now two, because they made heavy attack a target command.

Which makes it impossible to have the bear occupy something while we are heavy attacking for resource regen (which is something we have to do even more now)

Someone didn't think this through. Very bad design.

Yeah, but PC players can use the command pet key before the fight and the targeted mob will agro on the bear and they will run together and start fighting. If you heavy attack, the mob will come to you.

I'm wondering if anyone has found a useful scenario for the Bear at all in any type of content?

Compared to Dawnbreaker of Smiting, Meteor, Destro Ult, Negate, Leap, ect ect it's just... not even in the running. I'm trying to stay positive about it and find a creative use for it but...the absolute best I can do is get it to land and maybe kill a quest mob if I time it perfectly.

The bear can be useful when leveling a warden as a solo player. It works like the sorc pets. It can aggro the enemies to help keep your character alive. It also looks cool.

Its the best pve single target ulti in the game so there is probably enough content for it in the whole game except Trials

I leave mine out while leveling my healer. He can do enough damage for overland/questing stuff and is a decent ultimate (since I almost never use ultimates while questing/shardhunting anyway) so I don't mind it takes up two spaces.

As soon as I pop into a group dungeon, I swap it out though haha.
