Curious the re spawn rate for the chest shown on a VVardenfell treasure map?

Treasure maps don't respawn. You go to the location, loot the chest and the map should disappear from your inventory. If there's no chest you're either at the wrong location or it may be bugged.

The Treasure Maps are only one time use, unless you get the map again.

The other chests though are shared timers in the area. So if you open one another one spawns and so on. It's the same thing with harvesting nodes.

That is why people hate it when people don't take the worms and stuff. If you don't clear the node then another won't spawn in it's place. People are just screwing themselves but not taking everything.

Thank you Danksta & DMuehlhausen! Thought the chests repawned after looted... Finally Youtube'd the map and know where the mound is at now... Will look again tonight.

I know this is a tangent, but not really. Working under the assumption that most players aren't actually running around farming mats, they'll be gone from an area before they themselves would encounter the node again. So they're not screwing themselves, they're screwing the next guy or girl. Same for chests I'd imagine, though those probably get farmed a bit more.

That being said, i'm not trying to justify the behavior either. I have a friend I'm leveling an alt with, and he's very new to MMOs in general. I always have to remind him to take everything from a node because he doesn't subscribe and due to his bag space limitations he would leave things in nodes given the chance.

Chests and nodes will re-spawn on open independent if all is looted.

And today's lol, was grouped with 3 others doing some world bosses, we did an delve some had quest in on the way, this one saw an chest, typed chest, dropped an shard on it and picked the lock, then realized she was not an group dungeon

S/he's saying if you loot it fully, another will spawn elsewhere there and then. If you don't fully loot it, you're delaying the spawning of the next chest/node/whatever.

Yeah I hate opened non looted chests fully, it takes the fun out of chest farming

Correct, you will add a delay to the despawn and subsequent respawn of another chest but it's not like that half looted chest will just sit there forever.

Also noteworthy, the respawn rate depends on how many other players are in the area. The more players, the quicker chests and nodes will respawn.
