PS4 Crashing in Coldharbour - new morrowind character

Hi - Recently bought the Morrowind expansion, started a new game - did various quests in Morrowind, then went to Daggerfall and got the Soul Shriven in Coldharbour quest -all was fine until final scene when the ps4 crashed. Subsequent loads cause crashing in the same place. Started new character and the same happens, sometimes earlier on in Wailing Prison. It seems to happen when a magic effect is starting - just after killing sentinel and clicking on the cage, or on the last scene when replacing the Prophet with Lyris. If I start another character and don't go into coldharbour, the game plays fine without crashing for hours and hours. Managed to get one character out of coldharbour by looking away from the prophet in the last scene, so that the effects are not rendered - can anyone help or have they experience this before? I presume that most people will have already finished this quest and are playing morrowind on existing characters.
