More DLCs already?

matt.mailukb16_ESO
Morrowind was released to everyone less than a week ago and already there are 2 more DLCs being advertised.
Does this seem a little soon to anyone else?

The way I understand DLCs are quarterly updates. They are meant to come out every 3 months.
P2P offered you 'hell yeah!' moments. F2P offers you 'thank god its over' moments.

What a weird thing to complain about. Try playing something where there are very infrequent updates with nothing new ever added. You'll be back.

It's a new business and content model they mentioned earlier this year. They plan on doing 4 DLCs a year now: 2 regular content DLCs, a Chapter, and a dungeon DLC. One for each quarter of the year.

It is unfortunate that you read my comments as a complaint.

One Crown Store DLC per quarter, except 2nd Quarter, when we get a paid Chapter. This is pretty much the same cadence that they had all last year, except they replaced the 2nd Quarter DLC with the Chapters.

Edit: Also, this new schedule implies that the upcoming DLC are going to be content DLC, not base game updates, like Homestead and One Tamriel.

even before morrowind there was already annouced that after the expension a dungeon and a content dlc would be this year

wasnt it 2 dungeon , 1 expension and 1 content dlc's per year with random free stuff (like homestead and that new battle ground map/spelltype)

Nah this is normal due to the timing of E3. And as others have said we expect a quarterly content schedule, and I say "content schedule" because we've had several quarters where we didn't actually get the promised DLC but instead got various large sweeping game improvements like One Tamriel and Homestead. Now if only you could actually make more than a handful of items to decorate your house with...

I already know about the new DLCs announced at E3. I am talking about this Morrowind DLC as I never heard of it. All I know of is this Morrowind expansion.

Close. It's only one dungeon DLC, but so far the dungeon DLCs have had two dungeons.

From Welcome to 2017: "Additionally, we'll have a DLC in the first quarter of each year, a Chapter in the second quarter, a dungeon-based DLC in the third quarter, and a DLC in the 4th quarter."

It would be nice if i didnt just pay 40$ and another 15$ for sub to get 1500 crowns for a character slot.

Now I will pay for 2 expansions in the same year. Lovely.

Well, if you stay subscribed, you don't have to pay separately for the 2 DLCs that are coming. Also, you don't have to buy the content DLCs that they just announced, so don't feel like you must purchase it. Especially not right now, with little more than a name to go on.

But look at expansions for other MMO's, they usually come in 2 year intervals. If ZOS is able to keep up with their new plan I'd be great. If you subscribe you'll get everything but the new chapter per year. Compared to a complete expansion every two years, a little bit of new content more quickly would be a breath of fresh air.

We'll see though how ZOS does though

SotH is my favourite so far, with biggest replayability value (to me, as I love challenging small group content) by far. If anything I'd complain about TG and DB which are just tiny quest zones with 0 replayability value and only appealing to certain crowd.

Agreed. At least TG had some worthwhile crafting sets, DB is a complete waste in my eyes.

It does feel too soon that they will announce/release more DLC; but it's the way this game works compared to others(MMO). I get what you mean though Matt.

It's E3. They might have waited a bit longer if not for E3, but if you're a game dev, you've pretty much got to bring something to the table at E3.
    Living vicariously through my characters.

    My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"

Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management."
Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir."
Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!"
Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?"
Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop."
Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!"
Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp."
Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard."
Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT."
Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun."
Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..."
Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said."
Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!"
Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time."
Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people."
Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight."
Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"

(Signature idea shamelessly stolen from Abeille.)

Seriously guys, you cannot know what Zeni will do, look at the track record. They say one thing and then do another, how much more time do you need, in order to figure this out? Zeni is lost and has 0 plans for the future...or...they already have massive amount of assets ready but hoard them like the oil industry, in order to choke the market, to drag out their profits.

Thats the point. Just as you regrind and recraft your armor, having it almost in perfect trait new DLC comes in and you are thrown back into gear hamsterwheel.

Player busy with grinding and farming new gear is player too occupied to notice bugs, cash grabs and nerfs and most important shrinking quality playerbase (because people who join game for a week to clear all quests and then log out for 3 months because "not enough content" are hardly a quality playerbase) while ZOS switches to "quantity > quality" strategy.

Tell me what DLC was launched in the beginning of the year. Homestead wasn't a DLC.

So this year we have a Chapter and TWO DLCs not 3 .
