Please have the UI ask for confirmation before equipping Bind on Equip items

I was crafting some gear for a guildie, and when trying to enchant the items, I accidentally equipped the purple CP160 chestpiece, wasting 150 leather and all the upgrade items it took to craft.

I think it's clear that putting the equip key right next to the enchant key is not a great idea, but this could be avoided very simply if a message popped up saying "This action will bind this item to you. Are you sure you want to do this?" or something like that.

When you dye items, this exact confirmation pops up. It should be implemented in other parts of the UI as well so players playing at night who don't have backlit keyboards won't waste thousands of gold worth of materials because they accidentally pressed E instead of R.

[EDIT] Its_Alexis suggested an addon called SaveEquip which does exactly this, if anyone else occasionally runs into the same issue.

All items that are not Bind on Pickup are Bind on Equip.

EDIT: Use the mouse. The shortcuts don't actually save you anytime at all.

... You didn't read his post at all. He accidentally equipped an item he was making for someone else, now he can't give that item to someone else as its now bound to him.

Equipping BOE item will ask you "This item will be bound if you wear it, do you accept it." Then why the f he is accepting dialogue? It's player's mistake not games. Game already have dialogue to warn you..

@Elvenpath I haven't tested this, but my impression is that this is only for Dungeon/Trial gear which is tradable with the dungeon group.

Where is this option in the settings? Any time I equip a BoE item it just goes into the slot, no dialog box comes up. Is this something on console because it doesn't do any of what you described on PC.

How come? I'm on PC, didn't change any settings (at least i don't remember changed smt about this). While i'm trying to wear a gear piece it's shows me a dialogue about it will be bound to me so i won't mistake.

This has never happened to me, and it's clear that it's also not the case for many people. If this option is hidden in the game settings somewhere, I'd love to know where.

I'm pretty sure this dialogue box is already implemented ingame but really don't know how to activate it.

If that is the issue, why the f they don't put that on other items aswell? It's already implemented in game tho

Same thing happened to me once, and never got any confirmation box poping up as well. And I don't see any settings about.

    NO!

ENOUGH with the "are you sure", "are you REALLY sure", "are you REALLY, REALLY sure" popup crap, if poeple are too damned lazy to spend FIVE seconds double-checking then let them suffer to consequences and learn from their mistakes!

    [edit]

Tell you what, I'll support this as long as there's an "I' M NOT AN IDIOT" option in the UI settings to block this, okay?

If you'd bothered to read my entire post you'd have known this isn't a matter of double-checking. The keys for enchant and equip are right next to one another, and not everyone has great hand-eye coordination.

Man, this settings already implemented as i said two times before. I wasn't know it wasn't putted on BOE items but it SHOULD be. It harms no one and it should improving user experience more.

I sympathize - I've done the same thing, always with stuff I will never have any use for! - but no thanks on the "Are you sure, really?" message. After I've seen it a couple of times I'm just going to click through it anyway, which is exactly what happened when they added that every damn time I fence something higher than green quality.

I'd rather make a mistake every hundred times than deal with the confirmation message over and over again.

Edit: if they make it a toggle and I can opt out, then I have no objection. I wonder if I've ever checked that for the fence interaction? hm

I've done the same thing. Very annoying. Almost as annoying when you go to talk to a guild trader but your cursor jumps at the last split second and you steal a helmet by mistake.

Thank you! This is functionality that should really be in the game to begin with, but I've got no problem with using an addon, and this one does exactly what I'm asking.
