Was housing designed for "whales"?

Honestly, I think housing was designed, primarily, as a gold sink. You can blow through huge amounts of gold (3mil houses, 25k+ statues & trees, etc) decorating. Did they also allow for "whales" to spend lots of crowns? Sure, why not. But gold sink was a primary goal IMO.

(something for those trade-guild folks who gain 500k+ a week to use their gold for....)

edit... re:"whales" I've heard the term about game players for 5-10 years, and about Vegas gamblers for at least 20. Never really seen it as derogatory, just as a reference for the "big fish" in the pond as opposed to all the "little fish" who aren't big spenders.

Sorry I don't think it was ever just about a gold sink it was always about charging crowns why even put them with crown price tags on them and then allow you to buy all of them and you can't sell them to get you hard earnt gold back your stuck with it then even make a title to parade around with for buying them all it was never about sinking money back into the game economy! Why make furniture diagrams scattered through out the world then place every piece of furniture purchasable with crowns?
Let's be honest how many ppl have patients and time to grind every bit of this and that ZOS knew full well in a impatient society that wants things now and quickly that more than half of the community was just going to throw real money at it!!

That is just...well I'm not allowed to post what I'm thinking. Hopefully you meant this comment tongue in cheek (humorously). If not, my hope for humanity just fell another notch.
