Maelstrom Weapon Enchantments | Should they be considered Set Bonuses Instead?

They'd fall under the category of Weapon Sets.

Cruel Flurry would be a 2 set bonus, whereas the others would be a 1 set bonus.

    Nah
The ability to have a standard enchant in addition to the passive spell/weapons damage and the special effect would just be too strong, and it would serve no other purpose beyond that.

    Nah
I feel they would be too strong as a set and then adding an enchantment on top.

It's better to keep a trade off.

I don't understand what difference any of this would make.

Don't care. As being enchantment they are already the strongest weapon in the game, although the hardest to obtain. (300 runs and still farming my staff). If they make them a set bonus they will most likely become OP so as anticipated this might lead to a nerf

The difference is that if they make the passives as set bonuses you can also enchant the weapon to give it even more power.

In this case the trade off would now be not allowing these enchantments to be influenced via the infused weapon trait, however it would allow the infused weapon trait to now make use of the ICD reduction in comparison to solely the enchantment buff currently on the weapons.

the trade off for these weapons already stands at taking up two slots, limiting the player to a 2-2-3-5 combo rather than a 2-5-5 combo.

Would the enchantments have to be looked at and balanced? Likely.
