The truth about crates

Do people with addicted personalities playing eso, are they buying crates rather than food and security?

I would say most gambling addicts gamble on the fact that they can get a money reward greater than the investment they put in.

They don't and lose their money. with the latest research showing that they are in fact addicted to losing. The chemicals released in the brain when losing is the fix they need.

Now crates will give you a reward, in line with the amount you invest. So in fact you break even or get that lucky mount you were hoping on.

I wouldn't put crates In the same league as poker machines. However there is concern among players that its gambling, and inducing players to gamble when they should be buying food.

We are mostly adults playing this game, and I am not fond of the crate system as per previous posts.

And I don't believe its a problem, though only zos would know from there data of peeps buying crates if it is or isn't. Maybe they see someone buying 40000 crates and think its a whale. When it could be in fact a player just throwing his weekly wage at the crates, and now has no food.

In the end I don't really like the crate system, though I think its mostly harmless, if used in moderation.

Is this just a troll post?
That's like saying when kids buy those blind box Minecraft mini-figures, it must be because they "have a gambling problem." No, sometimes people just like surprises.
*EDIT* Also, this is the five hundred and twenty-first thread about this.

This game is 18+, If you are irresponsible that's your problem. When I got free 500 crowns, I was thinking about buying crate, but I know from youtube that it's mostly garbage, so I bought argonian kilt "Ever-Damp".

Not sure anyone is not eating over 200$

I have yet to meet anyone that's spent over 200 at this point most stop when they get the mount they wanted or have the gems, all the other stuff is just fluff we are happy to get.

Didn't meet a single person who'd say Crown Crates were "worth it". Even your so-cherished streamer figurines.

Mature or not. 18+ or 60+. Rich or poor. It's not that simple. Crown Crates are meant as a cash grab. If they are here - it works and there are people falling for it. As long as you blame players and players solely you are also responsible for supporting corporate greed. And that one is on you - whoever you are.

Corporate greed or not, WE are the customers and WE choose what we buy. If people like buying crates for suprise, then I don't see the problem. If someone is addicted to gambling then he/she need help, like alcoholic and there's no need to delegalize crown crates or alcohol.

"WE" are also humans (and not robots) who are responding to specific type of stimuli. Discussing that using people's responses against them for personal profit isn't ethically questionable is simply narrow-minded.

But someone said they'll have robot horses in the dwemer ones.

Eff that spider, I want a horse or a senche in robot form. I shall call him Bumblebee.

    TL:DR
I'm going to be buying crates for the first time soon...

If you could not convert items to gems I would almost agree with you but the fact is not matter what you can get the item you want it's not gambling.

And you have now met someone that thinks they are worth it I love the mounts and the items in them I don't think they are out of line with prices it's just fluff we choose to buy.

A gambling issue is when you can't stop no matter wat and it start to affect ur life. The crown store items do stop after you get everything and then there is no need to buy more. I don't think anyone in this game gets all the items and keeps buying crown crates that just weird and stupid.

Welcome to the real world! Every business is about money, but you can choose what business will you support. When you are buying a game, you are supporting some corporation. I like TES games and I would like people to buy Skyrim, because I want Bethesda to make TES 6. You buy taco you have taco and they are making more tacos, you buy crown crate you have crown crate and they are "making" more crates to meet demand, it's basic economy. Ads manipulate people for personal profit, but you can't do anything with this. All you can do is just don't buy things you don't need and be reasonable.
