Im not saying people never use macros but I think it's often a lag thing. On their screen it looks like normal AC and on yours it just looks like an explosion of abilities. I got into a /tell with a nb who t bagged me after 2v1 ganking me. I was like "what was that for? Don tbag people for no reason" Anyway we talked it out and turns out they were just suffering from really high ping which I sympathize with, it makes you salty. Point being they were telling me it looked like I was pulling off crazy AC moves and to me it looked completely normal, just that my ping was about 300 and theirs was around 500 or so.
It all depends, the kind of ability explosion I think is lag, because if Im not mistaken macros cant really move faster than humanly possible because of the global cooldown on abilities, so to that end its more the servers delivering all the damage in a split second as all systems try to catch up to what was done. Macros look more like a really clean and well executed string of attacks that could potentially be human skill.
