MagBlade [PvE]: Julianos vs. War Maiden vs. Necro vs. Spinner's

Hi there! Got a question about SOLO PvE with my MagBlade, meaning vet dungeons at the most. Got Julianos/Aether for nTrials (w/o vMA stave though).

Presuming for sustain I will use Lich on backbar and Skoria as monster set: which set will work best for me for dps? Julianos for overall SD affecting all my skills, WM for buffing my SwallowSoul, Merciless, Impale, Refreshing Path and Crippling Grasp (but not Blockade), Necro for max magicka or Spinner's for more dam against bosses (trash mobs were never a problem anyway)?

I'm one of the notorious 'casuals' so I don't want to waste spent my precious time farming. So WM got the lead on this one. Thanks for the advice!

Btw forgot to mention it's for Destro/Resto.

Btw forgot to mention it's for Destro/Resto.

you can farm with a good size group in imperial city for the key frags, they drop on all the mobs there. save up and turn in to the chest right side of the room before the dungeon for set pcs.or even buy the keys off guild vendors

You think? Scathing is uncontested best for a magicka nightblade.

Wat maiden does not buff:

Blockade, your ultimate, and light and heavy attacks. This is at least 30% of your damage that does not get buffed by it. Julianos is better. Unless I am completely mistaken...

Not for an average PvE Magblade rotation.
War Maiden might be better if you use dual wield / resto staff, veil of blades, lotus fan and concealed weapon instead of destro/destro, shooting star/destro ult, wall of elements and force pulse.

Yes, as Julianos buffs your light and heavy attacks tremendously as well as a good buff to elemental blockade and Destro Ult. War Maiden only gives less than half the bonus of Julianos for those.

The more elemental damage you do, the less appealing war maiden will be.

Unless you use a resto staff and only magicka based skills.

It is of no importance if the skill is "magicka based" or not, war maiden buffs "magic damage" which is a specific damage type just like "flame damage" or "poison damage" or "physical damage".

But I think a magblade running 5 heavy and resto in PVE as DD in dungeons has other problems than the choice between war maiden and julianos

Their damaging abilities scale regularly and do not benefit from it as sorcs do and therefore: Spell damage > maximum magicka, hence Julianos/5 PC Moondancer > Necropotence. Necro also makes light and heavy attacks hit like a noodle. This is the main reason why people deem magicka warden underwhelming, because necropotence is perceived as Best, but it's not.

War Maiden is a lot worse than Julianos on basically all classes except a magplar with dual wield on PvE.

Magblade does highest damage with 2 illambris, 5 scathing, 3 WP/MD and double vMA staffs.

The number one damage dealer for every class is always elemental blockade. So ditch War Maiden and stick with Julianos. Heck, even Burning Spell Weave still works fine. Scathing is fine too if you use Force Pulse as your spammable.

Using a ranged build with inferno staff and lightning staff i get highest results with ilambris cause i can double proc it... valkyn has always been lower dps for me... not by much though!
