Just a thought. For the housing that was what if you could have your alternate characters sitting about your house. Like you can place your services npcs, or pets, mounts. Place a random alt placement option. That will display a npc version of your offline charters. To make your house feel a bit lively.
To see all my characters sitting at a bar. Having a drink, would be awesome.
I have not posted in a while, didn't look long to see if this idea has come up before.
It's come up, but I haven't seen it pitched in a while. It's been on the wishlists of roleplayers and housing enthusiasts (myself included) since Homestead hit the PTS last January, but I suspect it would take a lot of coding time that the devs would prefer be spent elsewhere, so I doubt they'll ever implement it.
It's a cool pipe dream, though, right?
Living vicariously through my characters.
My Girls:
"If you were trapped in your house for, say, a year, how would you pass the time?"
Nephikah the Houseless, dunmer assassin: "I suppose I could use the break. I have a lot of business holdings now that need management." Swum-Many-Waters, elderly argonian healer: "I think that I would enjoy writing a memoir." Silh'ki, khajiit warrior-chef: "Would this one be able to go outside, to the nearby river? It's hard to fish without water!" Peregrine Huntress, bosmer hunter: "Who is forcing me to stay inside, and where can I find them?" Lorenyawe, altmer mechanist: "And why would I want to go outside in the first place? Too much to be done in the workshop." Lorelai Magpie, breton master thief: "I'd go nuts. Lucky for me, I have a little experience sneaking out!" Rasheda the Burning Heart, redguard knight: "I would continue my training to keep my skills sharp." Hex-Eye Azabi, khajiit daedric priestess: "I suppose it would be lucky, then, that I built a shrine to Mephala in my backyard." Yngva Stormhammer, nord bandit (reformed...ish): "I hate being inside even when I'm not forced to be. GET. ME. OUT." Madam Argentia, vampire dunmer aristocrat: "I suppose it would be more of the same. I have a rather... contentious relationship with the sun." Mazie gra-Bolga, orc scout: "Uh... I'd have to house train my bear..." Felicia the Wanderer, imperial witch-for-hire: "What Lorelai said." Calico Jaka-dra, retired khajiit pirate: "This one would like a rest from her grand adventures. Her jewel shop runs out of stock!" Shimmerbeam, blind altmer psijic: "Provided that I am confined to Artaeum, I do not think I will want for things to occupy my time." Shauna Blackfire, redguard necromancer: "Sounds like paradise. I hate people." Kirniel the Undying, cursed bosmer warrior: "I would feel useless, not being able to fight." Echoes-from-Dragons, argonian who thinks she's a dragon: "All the better to count my hoard!"
This suggestion have come up many times before, but I still support it. I would like to be able to place my characters, and preferably make them do stuff (sitting at a table, drinking, sleeping). I would also like to to be able to place NPC, like guards, servants or bartenders, and preferably these NPCs would be customizable.
That sounds super creepy to me to be honest x_x Seeing a lifeless - or even worse, life-full - character that I generally associate with myself yet it's there on its own as I'm on a different character...yikes.
Castle Claws is home to both this one and all of her apprentices yes - ten of them.
If one or two could be visible seen about the place going about their sweeping and laundry tasks then this one would feel reassured that they were not out and about somewhere else and involved in who knows what mischief yes.
Also many only know and see this one - if they could pay a visit to Khajiit and also see a few of the apprentices at the same time that would be nice.
Also it would contribute towards Castle Claws feeling like a home rather than just a building, swimming pool, beach and bar yes.
This is an awesome idea. I loved that Skyrim had bards etc. Maybe have an option for different ones to have different options, like playing instruments, your main crafter walking around an "assigned" crafting area interacting with your stations. Just a thought
So far, the biggest problem with housing to me is that it seems like a dead bubble seperated form the (life of) the game world. Having people like alts on a break in there would be a start. A great one.

To each their own though I suppose
That may be part of how different players approach characters. I can see how, if each character is "you," that would be creepy. XD
I'm more like Santie Claws was talking about, where each of my characters is her own character, with a backstory and personality of her own, so is not really "me." More, my characters know one another (they basically work for the same adventuring company), to the point where some of them are roommates. It would make so much sense to have one of them see her roommate sweeping or reading while she's home, or to have one character visit another character's house and see them there. Heck, it'd be cool to have friends visit a character's house and see them there.
Ah, well.

yeah i thought about that too. problems could arise though. If ZOS can't even manage a code that can handle 400 objects and 12 players in a house, what kind of chaos could a bunch of alt NPCs wreak?
I am glad some of you liked the idea, all great ideas as well.
My player house is a simple apartment, with only a bed and a table with two chairs. It would be cool to run back and to see one of my six alts having a drink at the table.
