Champion point cap increase

So about a month ago I dinged 600 champion points which was the cap for how many you could put in to the champion skill lines. I then didn't play the game again till today with the release of morrowind, it is now a 630 cap. It says the experience curve has been adjusted. I'm sure I was told that it takes the same amount of experience to get to the champion point cap each time the cap is increased. All that grafting to get to the cap and now I've got to grind another 30 points. ???

Basically 30 pts every 3 months. Sometime skipping a turn.

It's f you ha d it stopped playing you would have already exceeded the current cap. You keep earning points even when capped, just cannot use them.

Be aware that they have recently adjusted the dimensioning returns on CPs to encourage diversification.

Really isn't 'f you' though is it. Both really helpful by the way... neither of you explained it at all.

30 points is nothing just play the game and youll get there.

What did you expect for them to automatically put you at the new level cap??

for so long i purposefully kept my main below level 50...i wanted to stay in blackwater blade...

at the time I had no idea what champion points were, and that they were account wide (i only had 2 other characters then)...

even when I finally did reach vet, never really "grinded" to level cp...

playing pvp a bunch always felt like I was at a bit of a disadvantage going against capped cp players...

finally reached cp600 a few weeks ago - it felt good knowing above my characters head it showed I was at max cp...

ugh, now I'm only cp615...this time I will grind a bit (do quests) to get back to max cp level...

Well yeah, I was told that the amount of exp it takes you to get from CP 1 to max has always stayed the same throughout, even when the champion system was first brought in and max CP was 501

No one says you're required to "grind" 30 more points ... you're putting that on yourself.

I've met players in-game who just turned their first character to level 50 ... so you're in much better shape than they are. Though with the changes to CP in Morrowind, the gap between new players and those at the CP cap is closer than it used to be.

They listed the formula at one point.

The short version of it is, the further you are away from cap, the less expensive subsequent points will be. It's part of the catch-up mechanic. It's about cost to next point, not so much cost to cap (even though there's a mathematical relationship tucked away in there.)

So, at 600 (then cap) if you needed another 800k to get to 601, now that you're 30 points below cap, it may cost you 799k.

However, pretty sure the sum total XP's required to hit cap from CP0 will continue to increase. The cost to approach it will always be reduced according to how far away you are, and that distance -> discount getting ever wider with each increase.

30 points, even at the cost at 600cp's is nothing compared to even the discounted cost to get to 600 in the first place.

Also, with recent changes to the CP system, that 10 points per constellation is going to be quite underwhelming anyway.

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

I have 819 CP just in case I go into a coma for over a year. You can stockpile for the future in case you take time off.

Just play the game and you will get more CP than you'll need real quick

Morrowind is the first time I've been passed the incoming new cap when it arrived. I'll be well beyond the next cap of 660 in a couple months when that happens. Once you get to cap -Just play the game and it'll be there on the next increase.

Grinding CP makes even less sense now when attribute bonuses are capped at 20% which is reached with 100 CP spent in each constellation and CPs are more front loaded. Grinding is wasted time that can be spent instead learning and enjoying the game. And IMO no-CP PvP is more enjoyable - less lag, burstier combat, no need to reallocate CP. Having experienced both CP and non-CP I would have absolutely no regrets if ZoS decided to pull the plug on CP campaigns tomorrow.
