Worth coming back?

I've just finished this year of University and as I've only got a part time job to keep me occupied I thought I'd get back into some games I've been neglecting in favour of study.
Anyway, it's a long while since I played this game, 2 years or so. But with the Morrowwind expansion out I thought it might be a good time to play again? What's the current state of the game? I remember getting very bored at VR14 on my nightblade as the class was very weak at the time and every had to use light armour and resto / destro staff combo. Any changes to the way melee stamina builds work? Also how's the warden class I've always liked that kind of class archetype. Thanks in advance!

It depends if you played TES 3 before or if you haven't, and what you're expecting from it.

If you like questing and the story then sure it is worth coming back and doing some of the things you haven't done. If you are looking for a lot to do outside of that, no not much has changed. And stam is still the same with maybe a new morph or two depending on what you were.

Cant speak to the warden. Don't have one.

In your case I'd say yes. I would recommend you coming back to ESO. Stamina with it's Proc Sets are now king. Warden is a very fun class Stamina Warden is strong in solo to small groups. Very few players can play Magicka Warden competently outside of a coordinated group or Zerg v Zerg in PvP.

Leveling is much better now. The VRs are gone. You only have to level to lvl 50 and then gather your champion points for your account.

Outside of PvP, ESO has never been better. So many options in ESO atm. Alot of content as well. Much of the content don't require other people to complete. Morrowind in my option is a very good edition to the game.

Far as PvP goes.... All I'll say here. It's PvP in a MMO not a dedicated PvP game. If you are a PvP only oriented player. You very well may want to skip ESO for a MOBA or a Competitive Shooter. I will not comment on BGs as you can find out about them from other players in other threads on these forums.

However if is the total MMORPG experience, that you are after. I'd highly recommend ESO to you.

I came back recently as well and am enjoying my time back in tamriel. There seem to be a lot of mad folks around lately about meta changes etc. But there are tons of new gear sets, trials, questing, battlegrounds for pvp, homestead to work on (new crafting stuff), new daily quests etc. And even better, a lot of previously difficult to use armor sets (didnt drop at max level or in obscure places) seems to be updated and some are even dropping in easy to farm delves and dungeons.

As a newly returned player, there seems to be lots to do.

It depends what you're looking for in the game or an MMO in general.
    • PvE Questing - Lots of content and stories, keeps getting better with each update, little replay value however.
    • PvE Dungeons - Lots of dungeons, enjoyable mechanics in later ones, get boring after a while or mastering.
    • PvE Trials (raids) - Four raids, revamped difficulty has made some very good challenges.
    • PvP Cyrodiil - Hit and miss, still a lot of issues with lag, faction balance and game balance, mostly as it was previously.
    • PvP Battlegrounds (4v4v4) - Not tried yet personally, some queuing issues, content is meant to be pretty good but with some queue/grouping issues right now.
