there were a lot of adjustments this update and CP removal in a lot of pvp campaigns as well as battlegrounds so I wanted to see if I could spark a discussion (doubt it) a lot of theory's going around that it will be removed eventually so wanted to chime in.

first is it would be nice if the base points section of the CP were removed (what we invest points into) and rolled into the game. for instance player power and skill effect power is based on a point somewhere between no cp and max CP

for instance major defile base is 30%, but after cp can be over 50%, so I assume the intended strength would be around 40% if CP were not a thing.

most CP trees have a counter tree anyway. so if someone invests into 15% damage reduction, and 15% damage increase (mighty) and fights someone with the same allocations then they are effectively cancelling each other out.

I would say roll those base bonuses into base player stats and skills and remove CP, have the devs put the player power were they want it to be without cp and remove them.

**at this time I would like to point out that CP is one of the reasons hybrids are dead, as even if the gear for it is okay you still need to invest CP into far too many trees to make it effective and you simply don't have the points over a pure mag or stam build that gets to invest the same amount of CP into far more specific trees.**

however I would say keep the constellation bonuses and let us spend points on them (far more like skyrim) and expand upon those kinds of bonuses (you could take lack luster set 5 piece bonuses for example and add them to constellations. though I would personally weaken some of the effects.

-When you take damage, you have a 30% chance to heal you and your allies within 7 meters for 2429 Health. This effect can occur once every 3 seconds. (almelexia mercy)
-Reduces the duration of all negative effects applied to you by 20%.(curse eater)
-When you activate your Ultimate, you heal you and your allies within 20 meters of you for 30 Health per point of the Ultimate's cost (lamia song)
-Ignore Movement Speed penalty of Sneak. (night silence)
-When you take elemental damage, gain 7727 Resistance to that element for 4 seconds. You can only be resistant to one element at a time. (trial by fire)
-When you kill an enemy, you heal for 5160 Health over 6 seconds. (vampires kiss)
-When you take damage from a melee attack, you have a 15% chance to reduce attacker's Weapon Damage by 10% for 5 seconds (alessia bulwark)
-When you interrupt a casting enemy, you heal for 4300 Health and increase the enemy's damage take by 8% for 5 seconds (nobles conquest)

etc.
etc.

note I did not include any of the bonuses like "reduce magic cost by 8%" or "increase magicka regen by 6%" or whatever, as those are very specific and very clear advantages that everyone will consider a must have at the exclusion of all others.

points to spend in constellation could eather be earned while leveling 1-50

OR

replace CP in that you earn them once you hit 50 up to a cap

/wall of text over.

Hybrids is dead because spell / weapon damage scales off your resource pool, if you have high magic you can not only cast more spells before running out but each spell does more damage.

Even without that scaling you still has to gear up for focus on either magic or stamina
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

they have done quite a bit with sets to make it possible (or at least less crap) but I agree with resource pools, though I would not want hybrids to be THE way to go and there be no trade off.

that said bad sets on tops of resources = damage on top of CP is just too much.
