Just got these two sets, have a pretty good idea of what i want to run. I'm focusing on a concealed weapon build with 1necro 1warmaiden sword and necro on backbar. I'm also using grothdarr as my 2 pc and im using 5-1-1 light heavy and medium. just looking for some thoughts on builds :P
ask me about Bruma Bratz, the citizens barracks for the people of Bruma, Cropsford, and Vlastarus. For the people, by the people!

Isn't it a little annoying, having to have 100% uptime shade? I have a spare Necropotence set too, and because of this reason it will sit in my bank forever. If there's a good build in this thread I can finally put it to use.

Shade has a limited uptime. There's no 100% uptime shade.

That's why it's annoying. Having to cast it again and again.

The skill itself has no CD.

You must really hate using Shields or Buffs.....

no it is not. shade is a great thing with the porting. you can for example set shade, then gap close to boss, hit ulti and port back to shade and range attack.

Huh? How is that? Shields and Buffs don't have to have be 100% up out of combat, no? But the moment your shade disappears, you lose the magicka. How is that not annoying?

I know, I know. I have shade too for debuffing. But I don't need to worry about them disappear from time to time.

Look, I'm not saying shade is bad. I thought that was clear?

you get a 15% longer duration on SHADOW skillz with the DARK VEIL passive.. it's pretty good actually. Tactically, after the duration of the shade, it's probably smart to re-summon/re position anyway as the combat will have moved and you'll want a different port location (the port range is pretty short as I remember).

    Mage light,

They drink a potion on the clever alchemist bar,
    Put down a shadow image,
sneak or lotus fan into the middle of a zerg when the time is right,
proxy detonation and soul tether at the same time,
Sap essence to finish those still alive and shadow image back to their spawn,"

well you just re-cast it an you get the magicka buff again.

Wait, do you not only get the max magicka, but it's auto-filled? I thought it's like food buff, where you will have to wait a little for the regen. That's why it's annoying: not about the shade, but the set bonus.

First, I have to wonder how hitting a skill button every 15 to 18 seconds is annoying, but I will allow that your easily annoyed.

Why does it matter if you lose your magic pool max limit when your not in combat? You get it as soon as you pop the Shade again. And, that is what really matters, your max level magic value as it scales all the magic skills that you use.

If your running your pool out, buffed or not, during combat, that is a resource management issue. Besides, if you have good resource management and environmental awareness, you'll get the magic back to fill the buff and what it cost you to pop the shades before you get deep into combat.

But, hey, don't use one of the most powerful Pet Sets in the game if Pets are not your thing.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Why do I deserve such subtle insult with my simple opinion, that did not target anyone and still somehow managed to offend? I've been meeting nice people, but sometimes I wonder if others just had a bad day, or enjoy to fight.

You cast it at the beginning of a fight and gain max magicka; it's not filled. So you don't start with the fight with max, but you do have added spell power. Some people like you are fine with it, some prefer to have sets that don't trigger OCD. I find it annoying that if I wear Necropotence, I'll try to keep all the bonus, and such effort is not something I desire.

(Again, my being annoyed by it did not magically make you a worse player. No need to take offense.)

I main a healer, so plenty of buffs I need to keep up. Pressing buttons is non-issue, as you may be surprised.

It is not auto filled, however the increase to max magicka is still used for calculating damage, so you get no additional magicka to use, it's still as if you gained 400 spell damage (ish) to your abilities.

Add that on top of war maiden bonus and major buff, essentially gaining 900ish spell damage

What's annoying is needing a target for shade. If I could cast whenever I want, where I want. I'd use it religiously.

You mean like during fights when shade has a purpose? It's not like you are ever lacking a target. So much whining for a pet that is cheap, long lasting, debuffs and is immortal. By far the best pet in the game to trigger necro it makes sorc pets look like garbage.

Some people might wanna fully buff up before entering combat rather than have the shade tap on their opponents shoulders for them? different strokes for different folks...

Yes that's what I mean. It's annoying to try to have a 100% uptime shade, because it needs a target. (So you need to rush to the next mob when one fight is over).

I could have worded my replies better. I assumed people knew what I meant; it's the biggest restriction of that skill after all (I'm talking about some earlier replies, not yours).
