I've spent around 30 millions since Homestead for house, furniture plans and motifs. 12-13 of them for motifs, 12 for three mansions, rest on mats and motifs. I got every single known to drop motif on my main (Still missing the Redguard lamppost, Sinlge, seems as it was dropping rarely, it stopped to drop at all now). So Homestead fulfilled its purpose - it drew my money. Or at least 2/3 of them, I'm happy, collected everything, can enjoy the system etc.

With VVardenfell it AIN'T gonna happen. Not gonna spent any money for new house without being able to make the furniture on my own, not gonna spend hours and asking who can craft this or that, without being actually able to see it in different position, not gonna pay 200K for a single purple motif. What Im gonna do, is pretend these new furnishing and Buyoant Armiger motif do not exists, bcs for me that's the reality. I've gotten few of the new furnishing, but the time spend getting A FEW doesn't pay off. I've opened hundred's of chest, never gotten a single page or Armiger motif, I've picked thousand of flower, never got a motif, pickpocketed thousand times, didn't get a single new furnishing plan, opened 200-300 lockboxes, didn't get anything either. I invested quite a lot of time, but got no reward. Not a single one to keep me going. So, no thank you, I'm off this activities, the half of advertised new things in VVardenfell are not there for me and as much as I've seen my friend have similar experience and stopped to care about them.
Thus is fact, made your work, in order to keep us playing, pointless and apparently fruitless, for both us and you, ZOS.

Of course, I can live without any of these goodies and will continue playing, doing other activities. Just wanted to share your complete failure implementing these new stuff.

There is more. Its not just RNG, it cant be that off, or chances to be that off are nuisance. I've got about 60 ashlander pages, trying to complete the motif on two characters. there are 4 particular ones - daggers, belts, maces, axes which seems to have such low droprate, compared to others (I've got 9 legs, 5 bows etc), making me to actually stop doing ashlander dailies (mind, I do them on 8 characters and share quests for some of them with other ppl, so liek at least 30 dailies a day). Another shot in your foot and another pointless activity to me.

As summary, if someone with wider view from ZOS, who read the forums, takes a grand picture what is going on this forums and what ppl complain for, is very, very, very, very bad chances to get what you want. And at some point most ppl just stop searching it, effectively shortening the overall playtime AND enjoying the new content. Remember, dear ZOS, its a game, we are here to have fun, or at least reasonable amount of it. And we can just do more enjoyable stuff outside of this game.

Hire a specialist, there are actual numbers what quantity of feeling of an achievement can keep ppl going on doing certain activities. Its being studied like ages ago and its well known matter. Use it, for the benefit of both of us.

Same with master writs, it seems so unfair that a friend of mine with the same known motifs as I gets a master writ of over 100 vouchers pretty much every day while i have never had even 1 worth more then 60.

    so yeh ...

Im getting a steady flow of MW, overall for 10 chars. Whats is putting me off them is the fact, that my most developed characters, like Bagatura and my other actual crafter, which both dont know only the Armiger motif, do receive much less writs than other characters with much less motif knowledge. I'm keeping a track last two weeks, will publish it after a month, need to get a steady data.
I can come up with formula which can explain this, but yet again, even if valid, it discourages me doing this activity.

The overall feeling of being not properly rewarded or totally unrewarded is what Im speaking for. Its not just one thing, its everywhere - drop rates when farming, weapon drops for sets, master writs, not to speak for crown crates(e.g, I've got two friends who got dwarven apex mount from one chest. In contrast, I've bought like 60 or more crates from previous seasons and never ever gotten apex reward). All the unhappiness just piles up and it will (thats for certain) reach a point of no return. It is not just me, its about everyone, everyone who does pay your salaries, dear ZOS friends. Take it not as a rant, but as an advice for future improvement and profit.

This thread looks like the crafting version of the vMA sharp weapon drop rate posts ...

By the way, I agree with most everything said. The drop rate on Buoyant Armiger is so low that I'm probably just going to ignore it till it shows up in the crown store.

Maybe this was their intent all along! To get you to purchase crowns.

Completely agree with OP. I can push hard on RNG, but these droprates are a complete failure from ZOS. This way i'll just ignore new furniture plans, Buoyant etc.

I understand your frustration, but maybe it helps to understand how things drop a little better. When an item is brand new and everyone is scrambling for it, the game appears to employ some gatekeeping traffic control.

Let's call our new item a McGuffin as an example. The game might be set to offer one McGuffin per 1,000 rngs...dungeon complete, node harvest, whatever mechanic they employ. However, the system is also set not to flood the market with McGuffins. So if a bazillion players swarm an area, the drop rate goes down...down...down, and now one McGuffin is offered per 5,000 RNGs.

We see evidence of this all over the game. A motif is new...you get one every thirty RNGs. A month or three later, suddenly it's one in every fifteen. You go do the world boss dailies in Gold Coast on a weekend when it's packed...fewer motifs in the reward chests. Do it on a Wednesday afternoon...higher drop rate.

I've even noticed that for RNGs where we can assume cycles, doing at the beginning of a cycle is better than the end when the game is busy. Example - daily writs proc at 11 pm pacific. I assume the system's tracking cycle resets then too. When master writs dropped and people did them like crazy, my master writ drops were better when I did them at 11 pm after the flip than they were if I did them in the afternoon. My assumption - the system doesn't know it's going to be a busy writ day, so early in the cycle the drops are normal. Then if it sees high traffic, it slows drops more and more to compensate.

Therefore, whether I'm entirely accurate or not, I always wait on grinding new items. Why rush to hoarde a motif? I wasn't going to wear Celestial...so I didn't pay $100k each for the motifs. I waited, and collected them for $5k.

The exception is for items I want to sell. The same principle that's bad for buyers is good for sellers. When Minotaur, Order, Draugr dropped I played these dailies...and sold any motifs I got for 50-100k. Then I completed them three months later at a cost of 20-30k each. I probably pocketed 1.5 million on those three styles by selling, then learning later.

I stopped doing daily writs once I had everything I needed, had about 800 unused vouchers left over and another 700 vouchers worth of master writs yet to be done.

Funny thing is, now I choose to do the 3 hardware writs (wood/smith/cloth) on 2 or 3 characters every 4 or 5 days, more or less for something different, and have so far received at least a 50 voucher writ every time I have done them. RNG is fickle.

Effectively Wardenfell was very short-lived DLC. If anyone plans to buy it, the 40€ is really about the Warden and battlegrounds. The DLC itself is less than Wrothgar without any new innovations.

These too low drop rates made it even shorter.

So this was the expansion of ESO.

Part of the problem is they keep adding more stuff to a limited number of rng lists. Reducing overall chances even further of successfully getting what you actually want.

They need to either put the work in to provide more varied distinct drop lists with reasonable chances for any one thing or add a voucher/ currency mechanism to enable players to guarantee a specific reward outcome after sinking in a set amount of effort.

I've left the motif grind hamster wheel with the Homestead release, in my opinion ZOS overdid it the with all the new motifs, esp. as the crafted sets are still mostly useless.

As with the new furnishing blueprints I really got lucky since Tuesday, basic exploring the starting town in Vvardenfell got me a Hlaalu blueprint, dark anchor farming a Daedric blueprint and DSC dungeon farming a Dwarfen blueprint and housing item.
On the other hand, 3 months "begging" the Bequeather only ever got me one DB item so RNG can really be a b'tch ....

You got three, they are hundreds. I also got some, among hundreds of old, which frankly are just clogging everything already. I check at least 300--400 containers each day on my way here and there and yet I've never found purple motif, any, old or new, and just two blue from new ones. Its not like I can buy them either, they are simply N/A, even if I swallow the prices of 200K after some actually appear.

Both Armiger motif and new furnishing plans are totally non-existing features for me. From "existing" feature, what pisses me even more is I keep receiving a steady flow of same repeating motif pages and continue to not get any Im missing. Yes, I know, sell them and buy the others. But its not right, something there is way off and not working as expected from the players.

Before I thought there are "groups" of players with higher chances to receive certain items from a set(not armor set, but set of motifs, materials or ingredients). Different groups receive different parts of the whole hing more often. This way to encourage them to trade. It came to mind when I had troubles picking bugloss, while my friend columbine, so we swapped them. But yet, that not just complicated things, it feels unnatural and annoying. Having sold 5 pieces of Ashlanders shoulders and having 4 more in my bank, Im yet to see ANY daggers or belts.

Someone there in this company, has either really twisted mind or really borked vision how real RNG feels like and has to be implemented. Seeing the jump point back again in CP system, I suspect someone there, one tiny little weak-minded guy has no idea how to work with floating point numbers and roundings.

In the real world, they use currency as the medium of exchange. This game has a currency, it's called gold.
But there is this opinion that any idiot can get gold so the really good things shouldn't be able to be purchased with this common gold. So they invent more complicated currency. After all, we don't want the guy who just wanders the country side picking flowers and selling them to be able to purchase the sharpened dagger of death.

I don't think anyone minds a grind, but the grind should have a light at the end of its tunnel. This random crap is for the birds.

If it is determined that a certain trait on a dagger will only drop 1 in 200 boss kills, then make killing the boss give 1 boss point and then when you get 200 boss points you go to the boss vendor and buy your damned sharpened dagger of death.
The dagger is still a carrot on the stick, it's still grind, it still requires you be good and so on, but now it does not rely on randomness in any way.

Think about the ticket system in an arcade. You really want that stuffed panda for 1,000 tickets, so you keep rolling the skeeball and feeding it quarters. It is not a matter of *if* you get the panda, it's a matter of *when* you will get it and will you be patient enough to follow it through.
