Maintenance for the week of December 16:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – December 16
• NA megaservers for patch maintenance – December 17, 4:00AM EST (9:00 UTC) - 12:00PM EST (17:00 UTC)
• EU megaservers for patch maintenance – December 17, 9:00 UTC (4:00AM EST) - 17:00 UTC (12:00PM EST)
The issues on the North American megaservers have been resolved at this time. If you continue to experience difficulties at login, please restart your client. Thank you for your patience!

I came back for 2 weeks now and have seen these 2 maintenance days.
Is it always many hours it takes? its like the 5th hour , last week i think it was nearly 8 hours.
what are they doing??? rebuilding their server?
How come this game needs this many hours, other mmo's take like half an hour or an hour at most?

    And a couple of weeks before it was 12-hr maintenances. TWELVE damn hours!

    • EU players are humans too! We want our maintenances in the least pop time (at deep night) and not lasted for several hours!
    • Animation canceR - is true PvP cancer! When you can't see which actions your opponent do - you can't react properly on them!

    It's because they only have two MEGA Servers. Most other games have smaller servers and multiples of them so they can bring them down one by one. Because they're smaller and easier to maintain it goes quicker.

    in my experience maintenance usually lasts 4-8 hours

    GW2 have megaserver, I can't remember having this downtime, in fact appearantly they haven't :

    But oke, they most likely won"t have this implemented, but still the game is 3 years old, at least they could do something about this annoyance. its not suitable for a big company to have this kind of stuff really.

    It is a bit like one of those puzzles yes where you have to press all the buttons in the right order. The buttons make the bells ring and also you must step on the floor tiles in the right order. Then the lights all change to the correct colours.

    One paw wrong and you must begin again all over yes!

    It also sucks for 3rd shift workers in the USA. I think most people think the world just stops functioning at night. It is what it is though, nothing can be done about it. Go work in your garden, or mow your grass, or go take a walk.

    However they probably have just one main database for each system. Good chance they pull files from one location too.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Next time, please do a search in the forum thread and complain in the same hundreeds existing threads about the same thing instead of creating another pointless whining thread. PS: Will you post another one like this if you leave for another 2 weeks? BTW Maintenance are always at least 4 hours, get used to it.

    it is a bit weird tough that eso has sooo long maintenance every week even if hardly anything is done in the patch notes...i might be wrong but my feel tells me its much longer than any other mmo ive ever played...does that have anything to do with the engine? or the processes? or the servers or?

    Your point? I've played for over 10 years. Are we done epeening? There are days when WoW's maintenance goes well into the afternoon. It's quite common for it to be extended. Hell, they've made memes about it.

    Guessing you haven't played Legion then, even though it was a pretty small expansion the weekly restarts only take about 15-30 mins tops.
