Staff auto targeting doesn't even work half the time

I am a healer. I regenerate magicka majority of the time through heavy attack with my staff. It doesnt work like it use to. If a group memeber is between me and a target, then no attack is executed. If my crosshairs arnt directly on the target, then no attack is executed. The cp Tenacity perk is barely relevant to a staff wielder currently. I'm seriously having to wuestion Zenimax's morals on healing. I would strongly recommend they reevaluate. [snip]

Yep I noticed that too. It's annoying and troublesome. Seems like something is off with the cross hairs

My Sorcerer has this problem when she takes part in Undaunted Pledges. Relatively new to group play so I'd thought I was doing something wrong, so I was interested to read your post The_Conjurer. Thank you.

This isn't a 'don't harm innocents" issue either, unless the game is coded to override player settings in group dungeons (which I doubt).

I've mostly been able to overcome the problem relatively quickly by finding a direct target angle, although this can jeopardise my safety. The more important issue is that I'm part of the group for my DPS, so any time at all not providing damage makes me feel that I am letting other players down :(

Haha well the way that the new builds are going, everyone is forced to do more dps, so nobody will notice. Whenever you're healing, finding a target angle isnt something that should factor factor into my role. If im fighting a boss and the other 3 group member are melee fighting in a triangle around it, the perfect angle these staves require is slim to none. I shouldnt have to hunt down an oppening or wait for the dps to move out of my line if sight to get some magicka for a vital heal. Im looking at 4 healthbars and trying to keep track of adds. Unfortunately the boss doesnt have my top priority unless I notice him about to cast a nasty crit.

Is this an issue for only affecting female characters?

If not, I don't see how the bolded section is at all relevant to the topic. If this problem is driving players away, wouldn't it have equivalent effects on all healers, regardless of gender? Beyond that, there are quite a number of very talented women gamers who play this game, and in all roles. To relegate an entire gender to being "healers" is frankly insulting to the entire gaming community.

It's statistics. I'm not much of an empath. Your free to get insulted any thing you want (most seem to) but I'm speaking for a stat; youre trying to speak for an entire community of gamers. [snip]

An assumed number pulled from thin air is not a statistic.

Clearly I'm not the only one that felt the comment made was unnecessary, so please feel free to carry on with the discussion about the bug.

I certainly hope I am wrong; however, pulled from thin air it was not. It's a super common thing in any game.
Yes i would love for people to only comment on the given topic. You do understand you're the only one who jumped in wanting to make sure everyone knew you were offended by a a fraction from one of the comments, right? Thats not the subject. Do please excort yourself out if youre offended.

No one has said anything about being offended. My original comment was seeking clarification on how exactly this issue led you to call into question ZOS's morality for.... intentionally trying to drive away women by making healing more challenging? I guess? Regardless, I was continuing the conversation you started with the last couple sentences of your post. Specifically, I was calling into question it's relevance to the issue.

By all means, if you want to believe healing is for girls, go right ahead and do so. But I'd suggest thinking twice before needlessly inserting those views into completely irrelevant topics, especially if you don't like people like me challenging your thinking.

As much as I'd like to carry on with this conversation (and ask where your source of this "statistic" is), moderation has already removed the irrelevant points from your original post, so I won't derail the conversation any further.

    Have a nice day :)

Only thing I meant was that it is hard to regain crucial resources when one cant lock on for a ranged heavy attk.

Haha, I didn't understand his slang or was it gibberish. What is womanish or did say wonrich... oh dear should I scroll up. Actually, I still don't get how does ones morals affect gender. Is this a east coast thing. Indeed very confusing, but no need to explain as I feel this is something I shouldn't understand.

I dunno i think with a resto staff it works perfect....when doing dolmen you can nasically just stay on jeavy attacks all the time and it autojumps from target to target....bow is much harder to aim with a controller during fast dolmen

I can't see the original post, but I would probably be offended too. Dungeon roles are just that, dungeon roles. No need to attach any gender or racial group with them.

I play tank and healer in all MMOs. So I guess both healers and tanks are girl's roles, and somehow Asian-specific? Does my age group count as well?

I've noticed the same problem with channeling staves (so, lightning and healing) as well. But other players need to almost completely block the target. Otherwise it's still locked.

It seems like it gets hung up or something. I can even be looking right at an enemy with clear line of sight and reclicking the button a few times.
