Difference is, most of those things have a skill cap that is on a totally different level to video games, are more aesthetically enjoyable/varied and are actually competitive so provide interest that way.

Granted the amusingly termed "e-sports" are also competitive, but ESO on the other hand is a joke in that respect, I mean I watched a certain streamer do BG to see what BG were like and he was queued as a group and was on TS/Discord and it was just very one-sided, you could often see opposing players with low CP, people that had solo queued, etc, competitvely the supposed most competitive part of the game was a total joke, hence it was dull to watch, I guess it was dull to play, but then maybe not, I assume if the streamer actually wanted some sort of meaningful, skillful, competitive PvP he wouldn't be playing ESO.

Why do people waste time watching others play the game when they could be playing themselves? Sure, if you need a tip, watch a video, but watching someone else play like they are a netflix stream makes no sense to me. You can read up on how to get your builds optimized. No need to watch videos. Time is better spent playing....it's a game, and that's what it's for.

that's opinion, everything requires a specific skill sets, genetic luck, or money. gaming is just available to a wider audience and far more easy for a casual player to become a "professional" player, some are also just funny or interesting people to watch (like talk shows and what not, we know the news or info, but seeing it talked about or delivered by someone interesting or funny is what makes it).

the song "warriors" by imagine dragons is about just that.

dont belittle and talk down to something others are good at because you dont like or understand it. like those grown ups that used to call pokemon "poke e man" and talk down and act smug around kids having fun.

ESO is not a sport. Real life sports require physical skill that many do not possess or ever can posses.

ESO is a video game. Anyone can play it at the highest levels with practice.

Am I just so old that I instinctively recognize the difference between real life and video games?

    Sypher a very close 2nd.

Sypher doesn't stream ESO and hasn't in months.

That explains why he was streaming battlegrounds both this and last week.

My favorite is jackdanielleso, he's good, doesn't follow the meta and he plays hybrid builds, and is actually good with them.

I don't see how people enjoy kevduit though. He's funny if you're a 15 year old I suppose.

If you put in enough effort into sports you'll be good enough.

Videos games are as just as much entertainment and spots can be to watch. Times are changing.

I like all the streamers listed but if I had to choose one it would be Fengrush

hes one of the main streamers that got me into the game
when i first started playing I had no friends to play with so I would turn on twitch and watch him (along with other streamers) while I play and grind

one thing that stood out is that he doesnt seem to have an underlying agenda with his streaming/youtube etc
hes passionate about the game and just plays to play and have fun
and his rage moments are funny
