I did about 30 randoms today, and all of them were DLC.
What's up with that?

becoz new players. they dont know to give up or requeue for different random. one normal random ending on WGT CoS etc will result in experienced playet instant quitting, leaving the clueless newbies keep on finding replacement. it wouldnt be strange for a random dlc dungeon to go thru over a dozen players.

When you queue for "random" dungeon it's not actually random - you're simply placed in the group that decided to queue for specific dungeon and you're the matching filler.

To verify that I specifically started asking "random" groups that led me to DLC dungeons whether they checked "random dungeon" or did premade group of 2-3 people intentionally queuing for DLC dungeon. I've got ~75-80% positive answer about intended DLC dungeon run.

The system is weird, partially leftover from pre-One Tam. Remember how dungeons unlocked at your level, from first zones of the alliances to last? Spindle, FG and BC as first tier at like level 13, WS, EH and DC as second at like level 20...well they still do this, except now you unlock both versions I and II of the dungeon at the level(implying FG2 is easier than Wayrest I lawl) and you have dlc ones open by default from the very start.

So basically if you queue on a lowbie at like level 12 you have a pool of exactly 10 dungeons available to you - Spindle I and II, Fungal I and II, Banished I and II, WGT, ICP, ROM and COS. Which means you're pretty likely to get a dlc one, much moreso than at further levels. Which is pretty silly but I guess they were trying to do the "don't lock people out of content they paid for" thing. Now why versions II unlock at the same time as I despite being former vet dungeons, still mechanically heavy on lowbies...that's just lazy design.

and the best way to figure out which dungeons are the ones you are most likely to "randomly" get is look at the dungeon sets that drop. The most popular ones will always end up getting randomly picked. Like I always get fungal grotto, city of ash or white gold tower so many times because people are farming the sets.
