New flavour of cheese --- oblivion damage glyphs

A true achievement of Telvanni magickal techology! Now on every build in bg and beyond. Technically, this means that many folks are running triple procs now. Quadruple sometimes!

Didn't take long to see people doing infused + torugs pact (and even some tremorscale on top!) in order to maximise.

Unlike viper, which can at least be blocked, oblivion damage goes through regardless. While I'm ok with some of it being there, I guess that builds aimed at proc-ing this all the time may be something which allows no counterplay. Solution? No infused/torugs effect for this enchant? Thoughts?

I know some people who use Torugs with this glyphs and the knight slayer set as stamina player... 2-3 heavy attacks are enough to kill other people.. exspecially magicka sorcs, which think there shields are a good defense get heavy damage. This damage is as higher as with shield breaker :o
Its really strong atm.. i like this as a counter against magicka sorcs, but i unlike it too, because its horrorble strong atm...

met a few stam players who changed their gear to this in the middle of a game when they thought i was just a normal M-sorc.
then they rage quit as i start roll dodging...

So people are using what sets again? Is there a link to a video or build? I really want to beat my friend that does nothing but shield stack and thinks he's way better than me.

I've been to every guild trader in the game and all I see is deadric damage glyphs and I am not talking about the glyph that does deadric and undead damage. How do you make an oblivion glyph?

Seriously though, I think this is all due to forum sorc-hate. Myself and other sorcs have said often enough how to counter shields in response to many of the nerf sorc threads, but all you see in response is a refusal to build for it.

Enough people crying that sorcs are op makes an awful lot of people switch to sorc for the next perceived meta.

Lots of sorcs and people start to think that maybe, just maybe they should build to counter them...? Surprise, surprise, sorcs no longer op.

This is all good though. Good sorcs will adapt, meta-followers will stop playing sorc and it will balance out.

Sure oblivion damage is nice and all but its awful against stamina builds that dont use 1h+s. I'd rather my disease enchants with the minor defile debuff.

Wait for Morrowind patch. With it Daedric glyph becomes Oblivion.

oblivion glyph without infused or torugs pact only procs once every 5s.
Shield Breaker gimps you quite bad if you are magica based.
and so does Knight Slayer if you are stamina.

Knight Slayer vs a typical low health sorc only deals around 1800-2000 damage,
and if you are using a lightning staff you will have to charge it for the full duration.
that is an telegraphed attack that a good sorc will either just LOS or interrupt.

so we are looking at around a 6k figure of irresistible damage in a 5s window,
ok, that might be viable in some very niche way.
but are people going to get more kills because they run something like this?
im fairly sure the answer to that is NOPE

Weapon procs have a cooldown and heavy attacks are not all that fast. Heals are the counter to things that decrease your health.

In a way its good as it makes Infused Weopons have a purpose over the Sharpened meta. But I'd prefer to see more options like this for all the weopons rather than everyone flocking to this thread to copy the setup and new meta dawn!

Question is what class makes best use of this build. I tried a dk hybrid build it did ok. Was pretty fun and very diffrent. But i think a magicka heavy stam build might be better.

@logiikz214 daedric damage and oblivion damage are the same thing. They ignore resistance and ignore shields. U can test this by putting it on ur weapon and hitting a friend sorc in a duel. You'll notice his health go lower through his shields

Same thing happens to Gankblades, but guess what we get hates from everyone and get our Playstyle nerfed with every Patch now. I hope the same happens to Mag-Sorcs since Zenimax mentality doesnt say "build to counter" but rather "just nerf it"

@logiikz214 that's because it's not called an oblivion damage glyph. It's like a damage health glyph or something. Although I'm worried that's not quite right.

Honestly oblivion glyphs and knight slayer are what I use on my magicka DK as I built her to be a counter to mag sorcs that can still do alright against anything else. I find, if it's a staff like a fire staff, a good stam user can render those heavy attacks useless with a good roll dodge (or if you're a nightblade, period, a well timed cloak). This means all of that wind up time is wasted time. Usually I only ever begin my rotation with a heavy attack as any skilled player, if it isn't mid fight, can definitely work around it.

Against magsorcs, however, it's a different story haha. Wings up, heavy attacks with the destructive reach and maybe some force pulses. The skilled magsorcs can work around it but most disintegrate like tissue paper in a pool of salty tears.
