Yesterday in wayrest i was dueling and whrn i wasnt dueling i was reading zone chat

And no joke I witnessed atleast 10 groups form for a netches touch farm. When i say 10 groups I literally mean 40 different people were in zone chat lookin to farm it in my hour and 30 mins i was online.

Anyways point of thread is is the set worth it on magsorc? Ds1 is a supereasy dungeon to farm on normal .

Is it best inslot for morrowind?

Say it ain't so bro...I will never use pets lol..smh. I'm on console but from all the information I've gathered netch will be the no pet go to set, julianos should be close after that.

Sounds like with the "missed" patch notes about pets no longer passively healing, pet builds might take a bigger hit than expected outside of the warden bear ultimate builds.

I've never really understood the damage formulas, but I do know total Magicka is factored into things - so how does 4000+ Magicka stack up against 400 Spell Damage to shock? I'm genuinely curious and have been looking for a reason to drop the pets for a while just because they pull all the aggro and make the game cheese for me - but at the same time if I'm gonna get a drop in DPS, I'm iffy. Care to explain to me?

Your pet got a damage nerf. And it dies much easier now which means more recasts less dps .

Yeah but I don't use the pets for what they provide in terms of abilities or damage - I always cast them of course - but really I use them for the set bonus that gives me 4000+ Magicka - so what I'm asking is how that stacks up against a shock damage buff of 400. Most of my DPS comes from the shock abilities I use. The pets are just there to buff my Magicka. I'm not a meta player - or overly experienced with Sorc.

For shock skills, they are roughly equal (about 10.5:1 MM/SD ratio). A notable exception is for staff attacks where max magicka does very little (about a 40:1 MM/SD ratio).

I want to figure out myself if scathing is in fact better compared to netch...theory wise it should, right? I plan on testing with lightning on front bar and back..see the differences.

I don't know for fact about the maths. I've read that for every 10.5 max stat it equals 1 spell damage? So necro is 380 universal spell damage with 100% up-time with pets active(Those numbers can def be wrong)....Plus the pets do DPS themselves.. I can easily tell you that necro won't be monsters ahead of anything anymore. The annoyance of pets + nerfs can easily make you stray into a non pet build and you'll still be strong or even as strong due to a trials environment.

Have you done tests with julianos/scathing/netch/necro? If so what were your rankings?

netch is good if you are going sparkle-time (400 SD is > 4000 Magicka) but it only buffs your sparkles

so if you also want to use Frags and Force Pulse then you might also want to look at the new War Maiden set to test if it is better (this set certainly should be good for magNB and magTemps)

Netch's Touch is great if you spent a lot of time using shock magic like I do with my sorcerer. I've been using it in combination with Julianos and a lightning staff (mainly for the splash damage heavy attacks and ultimate). It's pretty nice.
