PS4 Morrowind Pre-Download?

I have ESO Gold that I downloaded from the PS Store again back in January. I purchased the digital upgrade collectors edition from GameStop and also bought Morrowind (digital code) for a friend who has never played ESO. Morrowind comes out Tuesday, June 6. I tried to ask GameStop for the code so I could go ahead and download Morrowind since it will probably take a day to download (not even joking). They said the code isn't available until it releases but I was also told XBOX was able to predownload. I would really like to play Tuesday and not wait until Wednesday or Thursday to play. Does anyone have any info/updates on this scenario? Extremely frustrated if I cant get this thing on my PS before Tuesday.

I remember there was a box you could check if you pre ordered stating that you can get it to auto load for you. Now does this mean just normally downloading when it drops at 12 or preload? My guess is just when it drops at 12..rest mode ready.

It's not a new game.
It's still elder scrolls online so there's no pre loading, the patch is for everyone playing elder scrolls online. The code just unlocks access within the game just like Orsinium, TG and BD or Imperial City content.

You're just waiting on server patch maintenance and once complete you can download the update

So that's ok for me. But for my buddy who is getting Morrowind who does not have ESO at all, will he be able to download his early? I get that with mine I just need to run the update and put the code in for the new content, but he doesn't have anything yet.

Honestly if your buddy hasn't been able to download the base game by now it is safe to assume they won't be able to play until the actual expansion is playable. Sucks..Unfortunately it would seem that buying the base game separately and upgrading to Morrowind after would have been the better choice here ?

I think I can get the disc for 13 on amazon and then just get him the dig code for Tuesday lol. Hes not getting any special edition stuff but its cheaper to buy the game and the $40 upgrade at this point. Wow.

I ordered the digital collector's edition from the Playstation Store. Morrowind, as it appears in the Playstation Store, is available to download on June 4th at 12:00am eastern and available to PLAY on June 6th at 12:00am eastern.

Sonic 2 started the Super Tues(two)day tradition. I hate it.

Personally, I wished major releases were on Fridays, but that's just me.

I see your point bro, however i guess not everyone at zos works on weekends, that may be why they dont release stuff on fridays, in case of problems there are ppl to help.

Hell to the yes. Eff a GameStop. That is exactly what I needed to know. I will just cancel my gamestop preorder and get it straight from the PS store then. That way I can have it ready to play Tuesday. Thank. You. Sir.

Maybe I didn't get it correctly, but I think that what you will be able to download on June, 4th, will not be the actual Morrowind patch, but just some sort of authorisation files (let's call them so...) which say you qualify for playing the content, that will be downloaded by all the players (even those who didn't buy it) on June, 6th.

It would be the same as with dlcs: you have already Orsinium o Gold Coast on your PS4 even if you didn't buy them, and when you buy them on crown store you just get the authorisation for playing. With the expansions, you will get this authorisation from PS Store instead of from crown store.

Not sure of this, anyway. It's just the way I understood this matter.

The same appears for Xbox one. But none of that matters as it's not a game. They are informing the customer that the dlc activates on the Xbox and PSN network however because this is a server based game, the patch update and server access is determined by ZOS

So the code like Destiny or GR Wildlands is one thing but the servers run by the developer is another.
At 12 Xbox and PSN will recognize the dlc but in how this game works, that means nothing

Yup. I confirmed that basically there is no 'predownload'. I was confused but as Surak said, its basically just access is available on Tuesday morning. EVERYONE will have to have the patch update before the code actually grants access to Morrowind. So everything should be ok. Sorry for the miscues there everyone.

I had a timer that said available for PreDownload June 4th - well here we are and that notification is gone from my preorder.

The only thing that downloaded was a theme that has a timer on it

We should be able to download once the patch is done.

It could be before midnight, or well after.

Didn't the one tamriel patch take like 12 hours?

It took ages yesterday to actually find on the PS4 Store any kind of notification of how long until I could play it, and I could not find any kind of check box that would let me pre-download it. But a friend who lives in Japan said he has such an option. So I'm thinking perhaps it's a regional issue.

Your friend from Japan can buy and download MW? I am in Taiwan and we cannot buy it from the PSN store....
