How does gear work sense vet rank changes?

Hey guys I've been gone from the game for awhile (pvp is what I love the most and it wasn't fulfilling anymore) so I sold my ps4 and never got to the vet changes and what not I plan on coming back in june tho because of the battle grounds.
Anyways my question is sense the changes of gear went fromvet rank to cp, if I run a dungeon to farm gear alone or with a friend and I do it on normal and get the armor set I want how much of a difference is it between vet armor now? Because I see alot of builds with gear at lvl 50 (along with the weapons) that people made gold already. And I hate grinding. Anyways is it viable till vet armor armor gotten or is it simply not worth the time put in? Thanks for the feed back

✭✭✭✭✭V16 is CP160 for gear. Gear cap is CP160 even though our CP cap itself is several time that.

✭✭✭✭✭First, I would not waste gold upgrade matts on anything below the gear cap. It is temporary gear, very temporary.
Set bonuses average out between the piece. It has always been like this. Two pieces from the same set with a 2 pc bonus of max magika. One is 1000 magika and the other is 950. The end result will be 975 max magika. Of course if more pieces from the set it is averages out between all of them.0 -

So basically having the lvl 50 set won't hurt in the long run till I have the 160cp set? I.e the difference is meh at best0
