Mail removing attachments early

When mail gets to 1 day / <1 day the system is removing the attachments so '2 Days' is effectively the last day you can retrieve any attainments you have in your mail, this is on xbox eu.
I though it was me not clearing emptied mail but i left some unsold item in my mail to test and it removed the attached items early.
