Would ESO be viable without consoles?

Would ESO have better overall design and/or performance and/or stable business model if it had been designed exclusively for PC?
Really we do it without like, the musical instruments. This is the only musical: the mouth. And hopefully the brain attached to the mouth. Right? The brain, more important than the mouth, is the brain. The brain is much more important.

Exclusives are bad for business. Not to mention bad for people like me, who'd rather prefer to keep their Triple A gaming to Consoles, cause they know they won't have problems running it.

I dont know after subbing for the first year and testing ESO for ZOS is port (I dont recall that as part of the sales pitch at the time HAR HAR) the answer is no.

Their greed and lie to the PC player base enabled them to enhance the game and port to console. The cash they grubbed from that little deal likely enabled them to develop future content.

You remember? The 6-8 week content cycle for PC they were talking about in beta?

Actually it would've been better if it was designed for console only and added to pc later. Basically reverse of how it happened.

Well the game is so buggy & most of the trials feature multiple disconnects for most players so the question is the game viable on console?

    Not completely opposed to this.
Destiny is an example of doing it right for a console interface and audience.

It was viable until they all the console plebs in . We lost the best system of subscribers only so every button masher could connect to the IP . Now we have to read crown store and paid DLC threads all the time .

2/3 of player base is on console.
some of them would play the pc version if not on console but you would have far fewer players.
This would result in lower income so fewer updates who would again cut down on number of players.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

ESO would be very much viable without console. No doubt. But the market for online gaming on console has grown so much the last couple of years. People rather get a console than a PC these days. It's just more convenient and cheaper. I mean, everyone has a TV.

So yeah i do believe ESO would be viable without console. Buut, ESO would not be what it is today without console. Without console this would just be some random game only TES fan-boys would play. Console made this game worth talking about.

Other than when Zos ignored developing new content to finish consoles it would seem that consoles help the game overall. Content development is the same for all three with the only extra effort being porting it to the other platforms. Much less work than the actual creation and design.

We are all just one big family. The PvPers, PvEers, RPers, Grinders, Questers, TES Fanboys, Masterrace and console scrubs, carebears, tryhards, elistists, casuals and even @Stovahkiin :)

Consoles bring more player to the game

Viable yes but probably lower scale and its development would be impacted

I actually though it was a console port when I first played.
