Declining Werewolves

With the new update to the Champion system, losing out on resource cost reduction and recovery severely reduced, Werewolves are falling out of favor as it can't recover Stamina fast enough. I mostly use it during solo PvE encounters like World Bosses, and was getting wrecked when before I could go toe to toe with most of them before. Now its like two heals, a few special attacks and I have to swing frantically to stay afloat.

Thanks to the reduced cost to respec skills, I have decided to take away Werewolf points from all my Stamina characters, it freed a huge pool of points from each one. Its too bad, I actually liked it for PvE solo questing and taking on stronger targets that would normally destroy me alone like World Bosses. I'm keeping the skill lines on those 4 characters, but unless they improve (hahaha) Werewolf's ability to recover Stamina more efficiently or reduce the cost of abilities, its being benched.

I speak mainly from a PvE player perspective, as I don't do PvP. Though I am curious if anyone else who is an avid Werewolf user has similar experiences since the revamped Champion system.

I've been doing a fair amount of WW play recently and I haven't really had any resource management issues. Make sure you are mixing some heavy attacks into your rotation. I have found the following rotation to serve me fairly well for random werewolf destruction:

    Pounce
    Infectious Claws
    Heavy attack
    light attack 3-4 times
    Piercing Howl
    Heavy attack
    light attack 3-4 times
<repeat as needed mixing in self heals>

I was grazing on goblins in Cyrodiil over the weekend and held WW form for over 20 minutes during which time I never once ran low on Stamina using this rotation.

You're missing a whole lot of DPS in that rotation.

I don't have ESO next to me right now so I can't name the skills. It's just the one that grants major brutality and fears (I think that's piercing) and the one that you spam for damage (howl of despair?).

Yeah it's easy to kill run of the mill over land characters, but I keep WW on my bar for the same reason as the OP. Some bosses can't be kited (I play Bow/Bow) and for those I could swap to WW and usually wreck them. I have not had good luck with WW this patch though.

Everyone is having to deal with the same issue. I would expect WW would have to heavy attack like the rest of us. Been awhile since I played WW but iirc heavy attacks still return stamina.

Sadly it doent work for pvp , heavy attacks of ww have some wierd target area and they miss 80% against moving targets .

I am aware PvP 1vX has always been about burst. However, WWs builds are still facing the same sustain issues other builds face sans the stam regen that comes from being in WW form. I assume that still exists. Have not used WW form in awhile.
